Gujar Khan: Overseas Pakistani from Walsall along with another shot dead at a wedding in Gujar Khan

گوجرخان کے ایک میرج ہال میں شادی کی خوشیاں اس وقت ماتم میں بدل گئیں جب دو مخالف گروپوں کے درمیان فائرنگ کے تبادلے میں دو افراد موقع پر ہی جاں بحق ہوگئے۔ پولیس کے مطابق جاں بحق ہونے والوں کی شناخت محمد زارید اور رحمان محمود کے ناموں سے ہوئی ہے، جن کا تعلق گاؤں دھمّان سے بتایا جاتا ہے۔
مزید یہ کہ محمد زارید کا آبائی تعلق گاؤں ماہندر سے تھا اور وہ والسال  سے حال ہی میں پاکستان واپس آئے تھے۔ وہ زاہور اور سعید چھٹہ اآف سلاوکے بھائی تھے۔

واقعہ کی اطلاع ملتے ہی ایس ڈی پی او / اے ایس پی سید دانیال حسن اور ایس ایچ او مرزا طیب بیگ بھاری پولیس نفری کے ہمراہ فوری طور پر موقع پر پہنچے۔ پولیس نے علاقے کو گھیرے میں لے کر شواہد جمع کیے اور میرج ہال کا تفصیلی معائنہ کیا۔

پولیس ذرائع کے مطابق فائرنگ کا یہ افسوسناک واقعہ دونوں گروپوں کے درمیان پرانی دشمنی اور کئی سالہ تنازعے کا نتیجہ ہے۔ ذرائع بتاتے ہیں کہ حال ہی میں دونوں فریقین کے درمیان صلح کے معاملات کافی حد تک آگے بڑھ چکے تھے، لیکن شادی کی تقریب میں ہونے والے اس واقعے نے صورتحال کو دوبارہ سنگین بنا دیا۔

ابتدائی تحقیقات سے معلوم ہوا ہے کہ دونوں گروپوں نے ایک دوسرے پر فائرنگ کی جس کے نتیجے میں ایک ایک شخص موقع پر ہی دم توڑ گیا۔ جاں بحق ہونے والوں میں محمد زارید چند برس بیرون ملک رہنے کے بعد اپنے آبائی گاؤں واپس آئے تھے۔

پولیس نے دونوں نعشوں کو اپنی تحویل میں لے کر پوسٹ مارٹم کے لیے تحصیل ہیڈکوارٹر اسپتال منتقل کر دیا۔ اعلیٰ پولیس حکام نے واقعے کا سخت نوٹس لیتے ہوئے تفصیلی رپورٹ طلب کر لی ہے۔

مزید برآں، پولیس نے میرج ہال کی سی سی ٹی وی فوٹیج قبضے میں لے کر تحقیقات کا حصہ بنا لی ہے۔ ذرائع کے مطابق اس واقعے کا تعلق 2004 کے ایک قتل کیس سے جوڑا جا رہا ہے، جس نے دونوں گروپوں کے درمیان دشمنی کو مسلسل بھڑکائے رکھا ہے۔

A wedding ceremony in a Gujar Khan marriage hall turned into a scene of tragedy when an exchange of gunfire between two rival groups resulted in the deaths of two individuals on the spot. According to police, the deceased were identified as Mohammad Zareed and Rehman Mahmood of village Dhumman. Mohammad Zareed of village Mahnder had travelled from Walsall, UK

As soon as the incident was reported, SDPO/ASP Syed Daniyal Hassan and SHO Mirza Tayyab Baig, accompanied by a large contingent of police, rushed to the scene. The police cordoned off the area, collected forensic evidence, and conducted a thorough inspection of the marriage hall.

Police sources stated that the shooting was linked to an old rivalry and a longstanding dispute between the two groups. The adversaries had reportedly been embroiled in conflict for several years. According to insiders, reconciliation negotiations between both sides had recently made significant progress, but the violent incident at the wedding has once again escalated tensions.

Initial findings suggest that gunfire was exchanged from both sides, leading to the death of one person from each group. Among the deceased, Muhammad Zareed had recently returned to Pakistan after spending several years abroad, when a murder was committed.

Police have taken both bodies into custody and shifted them to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination. Senior police officials have taken notice of the incident and requested a detailed report.

Furthermore, authorities have seized the CCTV footage of the marriage hall as part of the ongoing investigation. Sources added that the incident is believed to be connected to a 2004 murder case, which had fueled animosity between the parties over the years. Mohammad Zareed was the brother of Zahoor and Saeed Chatta of Slough.
