Kallar Syedan; Road Still in Ruins After One Year as Sahot Residents Continue to Suffer

ایک سال گزر جانے کے باوجود سہوٹ اور اس کے گردونواح کے مکین ایک اہم سڑک کی مسلسل کھدائی اور عدم تکمیل کے باعث شدید مشکلات کا شکار ہیں۔ مقامی شہریوں کا کہنا ہے کہ روزمرہ زندگی اس قدر متاثر ہو چکی ہے کہ وہ مہینوں سے اپنے جوتوں، گاڑیوں اور موٹر سائیکلوں سے گرد صاف کرتے نظر آتے ہیں۔

علاقہ مکینوں کے مطابق سہوٹ بدال، سہوٹ بگیال، ارجام اور قلعہ سنگنی کو ملانے والی سڑک، جو یونین کونسل کنوہا میں واقع ہے، محکمہ سوئی گیس اور ٹھیکیداروں کے درمیان مبینہ عدم ہم آہنگی کے باعث کھود دی گئی۔ حکام نے وعدہ کیا تھا کہ یہ سڑک ایک ماہ کے اندر دوبارہ تعمیر کر دی جائے گی، تاہم ایک سال گزر جانے کے باوجود نہ تو ٹھیکیدار واپس آئے اور نہ ہی گیس پائپ لائن کا کام مکمل ہو سکا۔

سڑک کی حالت اس قدر خراب ہو چکی ہے کہ دن کے وقت پیدل گزرنا بھی انتہائی مشکل ہو گیا ہے جبکہ رات کے وقت سفر کرنا تقریباً ناممکن ہو چکا ہے۔ پیدل چلنے والوں کے ساتھ ساتھ گاڑیوں، موٹر سائیکلوں اور رکشوں کو بھی شدید مشکلات کا سامنا ہے اور گزرنے والے شہری اکثر اپنی بے بسی اور غصے کا اظہار کرتے دکھائی دیتے ہیں۔

علاقہ مکینوں نے متعلقہ حکام سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ ترقیاتی فنڈز، جو 31 دسمبر 2025 تک قابلِ استعمال ہیں، بروقت استعمال میں لا کر اس دیرینہ مسئلے کو حل کیا جائے۔ عوام کو امید ہے کہ فنڈز کے درست استعمال سے نہ صرف سڑک بحال ہوگی بلکہ حکومت کے “ستھرا پنجاب” منصوبے کے ثمرات بھی انہیں مل سکیں گے۔

متاثرہ آبادی نے گیس پائپ لائن کی تنصیب اور سڑک کی فوری تعمیر کا مطالبہ کرتے ہوئے خبردار کیا ہے کہ مزید تاخیر عوامی مشکلات میں اضافے اور حکومتی وعدوں پر اعتماد کو شدید نقصان پہنچائے گی۔

A year has passed, but the residents of Sehote and the surrounding areas continue to suffer due to the prolonged destruction and non-completion of a vital road project. Locals say they have spent months cleaning dust from their shoes, vehicles, and motorcycles as daily life has become increasingly difficult.

According to residents, the road connecting Sahot Badhal, Sahot Bagyal, Arjam, and Qila Sangni—located within Union Council Kanoha—was dug up allegedly due to a lack of coordination between the Sui Gas Department and contractors. Authorities had promised that the road would be reconstructed within one month. However, even after a full year, neither the contractors have returned nor has the gas pipeline work been completed.

The condition of the road has deteriorated to the extent that passing through it on foot during the daytime has become extremely difficult, while travelling at night is nearly impossible. Pedestrians, cars, motorcycles, and rickshaws all face serious problems, and commuters are often heard expressing frustration and anger while navigating the damaged route.

Residents have urged the concerned authorities to utilise the available development funds, which are valid until December 31, 2025, to complete the long-pending work. They hope that the timely use of these funds will help restore the road and allow the long-suffering public to benefit from the government’s “Suthra Punjab” initiative.

The affected community has demanded immediate action to complete both the gas pipeline installation and road reconstruction, warning that further delays will only deepen public hardship and erode trust in government promises.
