London: Major Milestone for Manchester Airport as Airlines Shift Operations to Terminal 2

آج سے مانچسٹر ایئر پورٹ پر پہنچنے والے تقریباً 32 ملین مسافروں میں سے تقریباً ایک چوتھائی نئے ٹرمینل 2 کا استعمال کریں گے جسے طویل ترین منصوبے کے مکمل ہونے کے بعد ایک اہم کامیابی تصور کیا جا رہا ہے۔

ریان ایئر لائن واحد ہو گی جو ٹرمینل 1 اور 3 کے اگلے سال سے ہائبر ہونے تک ٹرمینل 1 کی مکمل بندش تک کام کرے گی۔ایمریٹس اور ایزی جیٹ کی پروازیں بھی رواں ہفتے منتقلی کا عمل مکمل کر چکی ہیں۔ٹرمینل 1 کے کئی بڑے حصے ٹرمینل 2 فنکشنل ہونے کے بعد بند کر دیے گئے ہیں۔

ایزی جیٹ کے ذریعے گزشتہ روز لینڈ ہونے والی آخری پرواز کے مسافروں نے آخری پکوان کا بھی ٹرمینل 1 پر لطف اٹھایا۔ ایئر پورٹ پر کئی بڑے آؤٹ لیٹس بھی بند کر دیے گئے ہیں۔

Manchester Airport’s £1.3 billion transformation project has achieved a significant milestone as British Airways, Etihad Airways, and several other carriers have officially moved their operations from Terminals 1 and 3 to the newly upgraded Terminal 2.

Starting today, nearly one-quarter of the airport’s 32 million annual passengers will use the new Terminal 2, marking a major achievement in the long-running expansion and modernisation project.

Ryanair will be the only major carrier continuing operations at Terminal 1 until its full closure next year, when the terminal is absorbed into the larger redevelopment plan. Both Emirates and easyJet have also completed their transition to Terminal 2 this week, further reducing activity at Terminal 1.

Several major outlets in Terminal 1 have already been shut down following the shift. Passengers arriving on the final easyJet flight yesterday enjoyed the last meals served at the terminal before services were discontinued.
