London: Pir Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani Passes Away; Funeral Prayer to Be Held in London on Sunday, October 19

معروف اسلامی عالم، مفسر، محقق اور مبلغِ دین، ڈاکٹر پیر عبدالقادر گیلانی دارِ فانی سے کوچ کر گئے۔ ان کی نماز جنازہ اتوار، 19 اکتوبر کو لندن میں ادا کی جائے گی۔ڈاکٹر گیلانی نہ صرف برطانیہ بلکہ پوری مسلم اُمت کے لیے ایک عظیم روحانی رہنما اور مفکرِ اسلام تھے۔ وہ اہلِ سنت و جماعت برطانیہ کے سرپرستِ اعلیٰ کے طور پر خدمات انجام دیتے رہے۔ ان کی وفات سے عالمی مسلم کمیونٹی میں گہرے رنج و غم کی لہر دوڑ گئی۔

ڈاکٹر گیلانی کی زندگی علم، تقویٰ، صبر اور دینِ اسلام کی خدمت کا روشن نمونہ تھی۔ آپ 14 دسمبر 1935 کو راولپنڈی کے گاؤں سندھو سیداں میں پیدا ہوئے اور ایک قدیم روحانی خاندان سے تعلق رکھتے تھے جو براہِ راست حضرت شیخ عبدالقادر جیلانیؒ سے منسلک تھا۔

آپ کے والد، پیر سید ولایت علی شاہ گیلانیؒ، ایک جید عالم اور باعمل صوفی بزرگ تھے، جنہوں نے اپنے بیٹے کی تربیت قرآن و سنت کی روشنی میں کی۔ ابتدائی دینی تعلیم اپنے علاقے سے حاصل کرنے کے بعد آپ نے ممتاز دینی اداروں سے علومِ دینیہ، فقہ، حدیث اور تفسیر میں اعلیٰ اسناد حاصل کیں۔

ڈاکٹر پیر عبدالقادر گیلانی نے اپنی زندگی اسلامی تعلیمات کے فروغ، برادری کی رہنمائی، اور روحانی و اخلاقی اقدار کے قیام کے لیے وقف کی۔ ان کی خدمات اور روحانی رہنمائی کی میراث آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے مشعل راہ رہے گی۔

Dr Gilani’s life was a shining example of knowledge, piety, patience, and dedication to the service of Islam. He was born on December 14, 1935, in the village of Sandhu Syedan, Rawalpindi District, into a venerable spiritual family directly descended from Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA).

His father, Pir Syed Wilayat Ali Shah Gilani (RA), was a renowned scholar and practising Sufi saint, who nurtured and guided his son in the light of the Quran and Sunnah. From an early age, Dr Gilani exhibited a remarkable passion for acquiring knowledge and serving humanity.

He received his initial religious education locally and later pursued advanced studies in Islamic sciences, jurisprudence (Fiqh), Hadith, and Tafsir from eminent religious institutions. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to spreading Islamic knowledge, guiding the community, and promoting spiritual and moral values.

Dr Pir Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani leaves behind a legacy of scholarship and spiritual guidance that will continue to inspire future generations of Muslims around the world. His funeral arrangements and tributes have evoked widespread sorrow and respect in religious and social circles.
