London: New Direct Manchester–Islamabad Flights to Launch from October 25

مانچسٹر ایئرپورٹ سے اسلام آباد کے لیے نئی براہِ راست پرواز کا آغاز ہونے جا رہا ہے۔ یہ سروس 25 اکتوبر سے شروع ہوگی، جس کے تحت پاکستان انٹرنیشنل ایئرلائن (PIA) ہفتے میں دو دن — منگل اور ہفتہ — کو پروازیں چلائے گی۔ مستقبل میں ان پروازوں کی تعداد میں اضافہ کرنے کا بھی منصوبہ ہے۔

اس اقدام کے بعد مانچسٹر شمالی انگلینڈ کا واحد ہوائی اڈہ بن جائے گا جو پاکستان سے براہِ راست منسلک ہوگا۔ اعداد و شمار کے مطابق ہر سال خطے سے تقریباً 3 لاکھ 62 ہزار مسافر اسلام آباد کا سفر کرتے ہیں، تاہم اب تک انہیں براہِ راست پرواز کی سہولت حاصل نہیں تھی۔

یہ پروازیں مانچسٹر ایئرپورٹ کے نئے £1.3 بلین لاگت سے تعمیر شدہ ٹرمینل 2 سے روانہ ہوں گی، جو ایئرپورٹ کی دہائی طویل جدیدیت کے منصوبے کا مرکزی حصہ ہے۔ یہ ٹرمینل اپنی جدید تعمیر اور سہولتوں کے باعث Prix Versailles ایوارڈ بھی جیت چکا ہے۔

مانچسٹر ایئرپورٹ کے مینیجنگ ڈائریکٹر کرس ووڈروف نے کہا:

“مانچسٹر ایئرپورٹ شمالی انگلینڈ کو دنیا سے جوڑنے پر فخر محسوس کرتا ہے۔ ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ ہمارے علاقے کے ہزاروں لوگ ہر سال پاکستان کا سفر کرتے ہیں، مگر ان کے پاس براہِ راست پرواز کا آپشن موجود نہیں تھا۔ پاکستان انٹرنیشنل ایئرلائن کے ساتھ شراکت داری کے ذریعے ہم اس کمی کو پورا کر رہے ہیں۔”

پی آئی اے کے ترجمان نے کہا:

“یہ نئی سروس ہمارے مسافروں کے دیرینہ مطالبے کو پورا کرتی ہے۔ اب مسافر صرف آٹھ گھنٹے میں اسلام آباد پہنچ سکیں گے اور طویل کنیکٹنگ فلائٹس سے بچ سکیں گے۔”

London (Pothwar.com, Mohammad Naseer Raja – October 10, 2025): A new direct flight route is set to launch from Manchester Airport. The Manchester service will connect to Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, starting October 25.

PIA Flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with plans to increase frequency in the future.

The move will make Manchester the only airport in the north with a direct connection to Pakistan.

Islamabad has been the most in-demand unserved route from Manchester, with 362,000 passengers from the region travelling to the city each year.

The flights will operate from Manchester Airport’s new £1.3 billion Terminal 2, which is the centrepiece of the airport’s decade-long transformation programme.

Chris Woodroofe, managing director of Manchester Airport, said: “Manchester Airport is proud to connect to the North to the World and that means making sure we serve the destinations people in our region want to travel to.

“We know hundreds of thousands of passengers from our catchment area travel to Pakistan every year but don’t have the option of enjoying the benefits of a direct connection.

“Our partnership with Pakistan International Airlines puts that right and adds Islamabad to our route network of more than 200 destinations served by 50-plus airlines.”

The terminal has already won the Prix Versailles award for architecture and design, recognising it as one of the most modern and user-friendly airport terminals in Europe.

A Pakistan International Airlines spokesperson said: “This new service fulfils the long-standing demand of our valued passengers for hassle-free, nonstop travel between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

“With this development, travellers can now reach their destination in just eight hours, avoiding lengthy layovers on connecting flights.”
