Gujar Khan: Residents of Historic Village Jhhari Bhai Khan Protest Over Long-Standing Lack of Railway Crossing

گوجر خان (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام | 19 نومبر 2025) —یونین کونسل کلیام آعوان میں واقع تاریخی گاؤں جہھاری بھائی خان کے باسی گزشتہ کئی برسوں سے بنیادی شہری حقوق سے محرومی کا شکار ہیں، کیونکہ علاقے میں آج تک باقاعدہ ریلوے کراسنگ تعمیر نہیں کی گئی۔ متعدد مرتبہ مطالبات اور درخواستوں کے باوجود مسئلہ جوں کا توں برقرار ہے۔

ریلوے کراسنگ نہ ہونے کے باعث گاؤں کے عوام — جن میں خواتین، بچے اور بزرگ شامل ہیں — کو ایک طرف سے دوسری طرف جانے کے لیے ریلوے لائن پر کھڑے ہو کر گزرنا پڑتا ہے۔ یہ خطرناک صورتِ حال نہ صرف شہریوں کی جانوں کو خطرے میں ڈال رہی ہے بلکہ ان کے روزمرہ معمولات کو بھی شدید متاثر کر رہی ہے۔

علاقہ مکینوں کا کہنا ہے کہ مختلف سیاسی مہمات کے دوران کیے گئے وعدے، خصوصاً سابق اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی راجہ پرویز اشرف کے حلقے سے وابستہ دعوے، عملی صورت اختیار نہیں کر سکے۔ عوام نے مایوسی کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ برسوں سے یہ بنیادی ضرورت نظرانداز کی جا رہی ہے۔

باسیوں کے مطابق محفوظ ریلوے کراسنگ نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے اسکول، بازار، طبی امداد اور دیگر ضروری مقامات تک رسائی انتہائی مشکل ہو گئی ہے۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ اگر حکام نے ان کے مطالبات پر توجہ نہ دی تو وہ اپنا احتجاج مزید سخت کرنے پر مجبور ہوں گے۔

گاؤں کے معززین کا کہنا ہے کہ اب ان کے پاس“اپنے حقوق کے لیے ریلوے ٹریک پر کھڑے ہو کر آواز اٹھانے کے سوا کوئی راستہ نہیں بچا”، جو اس سنگین مسئلے کی شدت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

عوام نے متعلقہ سرکاری اداروں، مقامی انتظامیہ اور منتخب نمائندوں سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ مسئلے کا فوری نوٹس لیا جائے اور گاؤں کے لیے محفوظ، مستقل ریلوے کراسنگ تعمیر کر کے سالوں سے جاری اس تکلیف دہ صورتحال کا خاتمہ کیا جائے۔

Gujar Khan (Pothwar.com | November 19, 2025) —The residents of the historic village Jhhari Bhai Khan, situated in Union Council Kalyam Awan, continue to be deprived of basic civic rights as the area remains without a proper railway crossing despite repeated appeals spanning many years.

Owing to the absence of a designated railway crossing, villagers — including women, children, and the elderly — are forced to stand directly on the railway tracks to cross from one side of the village to the other. This dangerous makeshift arrangement has put countless lives at risk and has become a symbol of the community’s ongoing struggle for fundamental rights.

Local residents have repeatedly expressed frustration, stating that promises made during various political campaigns — including those associated with the constituency of former Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf — have not translated into any practical improvements on the ground.

Villagers argue that the lack of a safe railway crossing not only endangers lives but also severely restricts daily activities, access to markets, emergency services, and schools. They warn that if authorities continue to ignore their demands, they will intensify their protest until their voices are heard.

Community elders say they have “no choice left but to fight for their rights standing on the railway track itself,” a stark statement underscoring the seriousness of the situation.

Residents are calling on the relevant government departments, local administration, and elected representatives to take urgent action and provide a safe, permanent railway crossing to end this long-standing ordeal.
