Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi, September 10, 2026): Awareness programmes and open public hearings were held in Union Councils Bhakral and Ghazanabad of Tehsil Kallar Syedan under the Punjab Ombudsman’s “Awami Shunwai” initiative, aimed at protecting citizens’ basic rights and facilitating the resolution of complaints against government departments.
Punjab Ombudsman Advisor Rana Akbar Hayat and Consultant Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood attended the programmes, along with representatives of various government departments and a large number of local residents.
During the sessions, the officials briefed citizens about the jurisdiction of the Punjab Ombudsman, procedures for registering complaints, and the available legal remedies against alleged negligence, delays, inefficiency or unnecessary hurdles by government departments.
They said the Ombudsman Punjab is working to provide citizens with prompt and free-of-cost justice while also contributing to improvements in the performance of public institutions.
During the open hearings, residents submitted applications and complaints concerning various government departments. An Azerbaijani delegation also attended the public hearings organized under the Punjab Ombudsman’s initiative.
