London: Royal Visit to Shah Jahan Mosque in Woking Highlights Community Harmony

اس موقع پر کلر سیداں سے تعلق رکھنے والے حافظ سعید ہاشمی سے بھی ملاقات ہوئی، جو مسجد کے طویل ترین عرصے تک خدمات انجام دینے والے امام ہیں۔ انہوں نے کئی دہائیوں سے امامت کے فرائض انجام دیتے ہوئے کمیونٹی کی رہنمائی اور بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی کے فروغ میں نمایاں کردار ادا کیا ہے۔
ڈیوک اور ڈچس نے ان کے ساتھ خوشگوار گفتگو کی اور ان کی خدمات کو سراہتے ہوئے کمیونٹی کے درمیان روابط کو مضبوط بنانے میں ان کے کردار کو اہم قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے مختلف مذاہب اور ثقافتوں کے درمیان مکالمے اور ہم آہنگی کے فروغ کے لیے مسجد کی کوششوں کی بھی تعریف کی۔

During their visit, the royal couple toured the mosque and were briefed on its historical significance as one of Britain’s earliest purpose-built mosques. They observed its unique Indo-Islamic architectural style and learned about its longstanding role in serving the Muslim community in the UK.

A central moment of the visit was their meeting with Hafiz Saeed Hashmi, originally from Kallar Syedan, who is the longest-serving Imam at the mosque. Imam Hashmi has devoted many years to leading prayers, guiding the community, and promoting interfaith understanding.

The Duke and Duchess held a cordial discussion with him, acknowledging his decades of service and contributions toward strengthening community relations. They expressed appreciation for the mosque’s efforts in fostering unity and dialogue among different faiths and cultures.

Local community members welcomed the royal visit, describing it as a meaningful gesture that underscores inclusion and mutual respect. Mosque officials noted that such visits help highlight the positive role religious institutions play in building cohesive communities.
