Gujar Khan: Major Underpass Construction Launched to Ease Traffic Congestion

گوجر خان (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام / 27 اپریل 2026) — بڑھتے ہوئے ٹریفک مسائل کے پیش نظر گوجر خان میں مصروف ترین (جی ٹی روڈ) پر دو اہم زیرگزر راستوں کی تعمیر کا آغاز کر دیا گیا ہے۔ اس منصوبے کو علاقے میں آمدورفت کی روانی بہتر بنانے اور حادثات میں کمی لانے کے لیے ایک اہم پیش رفت قرار دیا جا رہا ہے۔

ذرائع کے مطابق دونوں زیرگزر راستے ٹریفک کے دباؤ والے اہم مقامات پر تعمیر کیے جائیں گے، جن میں ایک گلیانہ موڑ جبکہ دوسرا ٹیکنیکل ٹریننگ کالج کے قریب بنایا جائے گا۔ یہ دونوں مقامات طویل عرصے سے بڑھتی ہوئی گاڑیوں کی آمدورفت اور مقامی ٹریفک کے باعث شدید رش کا شکار رہے ہیں۔

منصوبے کے تحت ہر زیرگزر راستے کی لمبائی تقریباً پانچ سو پچاس سے چھ سو میٹر ہوگی، جس کا مقصد مرکزی شاہراہ پر ٹریفک کے بہاؤ کو بہتر بنانا اور اسے بغیر کسی رکاوٹ کے جاری رکھنا ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ سڑک پر حادثات کی شرح میں کمی لانے پر بھی خصوصی توجہ دی جائے گی۔

منصوبہ مکمل ہونے کے بعد مرکزی شاہراہ پر ٹریفک بلا تعطل جاری رہے گی، جس سے رش کے اوقات میں تاخیر میں نمایاں کمی آئے گی۔ دوسری جانب مقامی ٹریفک کو زیرگزر راستوں کے ذریعے گزارا جائے گا، جس سے ٹریفک کے تصادم کے امکانات کم ہوں گے اور سڑک مزید محفوظ ہو جائے گی۔

حکام کے مطابق یہ منصوبہ نہ صرف شہریوں کے روزمرہ سفر کو آسان بنائے گا بلکہ علاقے میں تجارتی سرگرمیوں کو بھی فروغ دے گا، کیونکہ سامان اور خدمات کی ترسیل مزید مؤثر ہو جائے گی۔

تاہم منصوبے کی لاگت اور تکمیل کے حتمی وقت کے بارے میں ابھی باضابطہ اعلان نہیں کیا گیا، البتہ حکام نے اس عزم کا اظہار کیا ہے کہ تعمیراتی کام جلد مکمل کر کے عوام کو زیادہ سے زیادہ ریلیف فراہم کیا جائے گا۔

Gujar Khan (Pothwar.com / April 27, 2026): In a significant move to address growing traffic challenges, authorities have initiated the construction of two major underpasses along the busy Grand Trunk (GT) Road in Gujar Khan. The project is being seen as a crucial step toward improving traffic flow and reducing accidents in the area.

According to official sources, the two underpasses will be constructed at key congestion points: one at Guliana Mor and the other near the Technical Training College (TTC). Both locations have long been identified as traffic bottlenecks due to increasing vehicular movement and local cross-traffic.

Each underpass is expected to have a length of approximately 550 to 600 meters. The primary objective of the project is to streamline traffic movement on the GT Road, one of the country’s most vital transport corridors, while also enhancing road safety.

Upon completion, the main GT Road will allow an uninterrupted flow of through traffic, significantly reducing delays during peak hours. Meanwhile, local traffic will be diverted through the underpasses, minimising conflict points and lowering the risk of accidents.

Officials believe that this infrastructure upgrade will not only improve daily commuting for residents but also support economic activity by ensuring smoother transportation of goods and services through the region.

The project timeline and budget details have not yet been officially disclosed, but authorities have emphasised their commitment to completing the construction efficiently to provide relief to commuters as soon as possible.
