Manchester, UK; Taxi drivers face serious court ruling in which they may loose their licence

رادھرم ٹیکسی ڈرائیورز کا ٹیکسی لائسنس بغیر کوئی وجہ بتائے رادھرم ٹائون کونسل نے پی آئی آئی  کے قانون کے تحت واپس لے لیا تھا اور رادھرم ٹیکسی ڈرائیورز کا نام قانون کے مطابق کورٹ نے ظاہر کرنے پر پابندی لگائی تھی ۔ اس فیصلے کو رادھرم ٹیکسی ڈرائیورزنے رادھرم مجسٹریٹ کورٹ میں چیلنج کیا تاہم مجسٹریٹ کورٹ نے رادھرم ٹائون کونسل کے فیصلے کو درست قرار دیا جسے رادھرم ٹیکسی ڈرائیورز نے پھر شفیلڈ کراؤن کورٹ میں چیلنج کیا ۔شفیلڈ کراؤن کورٹ میں ٹرائل کے وقت شفیلڈ اور رادھرم کے ٹیکسی ڈرائیورز کی ایک بڑی تعداد موجود تھی ۔برطانیہ میں یہ اپنی نوعیت کا پہلا مقدمہ تھا جو شفیلڈ کراؤن کورٹ میں چیلنج کیا گیا ۔شفیلڈ کراؤن کورٹ کے جج نے بھی رادھرم ٹائون کونسل کے فیصلے کو درست قرار دیا ۔ اس وقت تقریباً دس شفیلڈ اور رادھرم کے ٹیکسی ڈرائیورز کے لائسنس رادھرم اور شفیلڈ کونسل پی آئی آئی کے قانون کے تحت واپس لے چکی ہیں ۔رادھرم اور شفیلڈ کے ٹیکسی ڈرائیورز میں اس وقت خوف پایا جا رہا ہے کیونکہ اس قانون کے تحت کسی بھی ڈرائیور کو بے روز گار کیا جا سکتا ہے ۔

Manchester; A Taxi driver in Rotherham had his licence revoked by local council on (public interest immunity), he then took the matter to the court in Rotherham but the judge held the decision by court, the taxi driver then took his case to Sheffield court, where the judge again held the decision made by the court. The court decision is serious ruling which will effect drivers all over UK.

District council may suspend or revoke… or refuse to renew the licence of the driver of a hackney carriage or a private hire vehicle’ on the grounds (a) that he has since the grant of the licence been convicted of an offence involving dishonesty, indecency or violence or (b) any other reasonable cause.

‘Any other reasonable cause’ is generally taken to mean something that may lead the authority to consider that the driver is no longer a fit and proper person to hold a drivers’ licence – to grant a drivers’ licence the authority must be satisfied ‘that the applicant is a fit and proper person
