ابتدائی اطلاعات کے مطابق مرمتی کام سائٹ پر شروع کر دیا گیا ہے۔ اس منصوبے کا مقصد سڑک کی خراب سطح کو بحال کرنا ہے، جو موسمی اثرات، بھاری ٹریفک اور مناسب دیکھ بھال نہ ہونے کے باعث وقت کے ساتھ شدید متاثر ہو چکی تھی۔ مقامی افراد طویل عرصے سے اس سڑک پر گڑھوں، ناہموار سطح اور غیر محفوظ سفری حالات کی شکایات کرتے آ رہے تھے۔

منصوبے کے ابتدائی مرحلے کے تحت متعدد اسپیڈ بریکرز، جنہیں مقامی طور پر “جمپ” کہا جاتا ہے، توڑ دیے گئے ہیں۔ حکام کے مطابق یہ جمپ یا تو ناقص انداز میں تعمیر کیے گئے تھے یا نئی روڈ ڈیزائن کے تحت غیر ضروری ہو چکے تھے۔ ان کے خاتمے سے نہ صرف ٹریفک کی روانی بہتر ہوگی بلکہ تعمیراتی کام میں بھی آسانی پیدا ہوگی۔

علاقہ مکینوں نے اس پیش رفت کو خوش آئند قرار دیتے ہوئے امید ظاہر کی ہے کہ سڑک کی بحالی سے سفری وقت میں کمی، حادثات میں کمی اور مقامی معیشت کو فروغ ملے گا۔ ایک مقامی دکاندار کا کہنا تھا کہ “یہ سڑک روزمرہ سفر کرنے والوں، طلبہ اور سامان کی ترسیل کے لیے انتہائی اہم ہے، اس کی حالت ایک سنگین مسئلہ بن چکی تھی۔”

منصوبے کے ذمہ دار حکام نے یقین دہانی کرائی ہے کہ اگر کوئی غیر متوقع رکاوٹ پیش نہ آئی تو کام مقررہ مدت میں مکمل کر لیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ تعمیر میں جدید معیار کو مدنظر رکھا جائے گا تاکہ سڑک پائیدار اور دیرپا ثابت ہو۔

تاہم شہریوں کو ہدایت کی گئی ہے کہ تعمیراتی کام کے دوران سفر کرتے وقت احتیاط برتیں، کیونکہ عارضی رکاوٹیں اور متبادل راستے اختیار کرنے کی ضرورت پیش آ سکتی ہے۔

As part of the initial phase of the project, several speed breakers—locally referred to as “jumps”—have been dismantled.
