Gujar Khan: Rs70 Million Released for Permanent Flood Mitigation

گوجرخان: 02ستمبر 2026 (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام —ڈپٹی کمشنر راولپنڈی کیپٹن (ر) ندیم ناصر کے دورۂ گوجرخان اور بریگیڈیئر (ر) قمر اعجاز کیانی کی کاوشوں کے نتیجے میں جنڈی پلی اور نگیال کے علاقوں میں بارشوں کے دوران پیدا ہونے والی سیلابی صورتحال کے مستقل تدارک کے لیے سات کروڑ روپے کے فنڈز جاری کر دیے گئے ہیں۔ متعلقہ حکام نے منصوبے پر ترجیحی بنیادوں پر کام شروع کرنے اور اسے جلد مکمل کرنے کی ہدایات جاری کر دی ہیں۔

نگیال کے علاقے میں این ایچ فائیو پر واقع نکاسی آب کی پلی بند ہونے اور پانی کی گزرگاہ محدود ہونے کے باعث شدید بارشوں کے دوران پانی کے نکاس میں مشکلات پیدا ہوتی ہیں، جس کے نتیجے میں سیلابی صورتحال جنم لیتی ہے۔ اس صورتحال سے نہ صرف قومی شاہراہ پر ٹریفک کی روانی متاثر ہوتی ہے بلکہ ملحقہ آبادیوں کے مکینوں کو بھی طویل عرصے سے مشکلات کا سامنا ہے۔

مسئلے کے مستقل حل کے لیے سیلابی پانی کے مؤثر اور تیز رفتار نکاس کی غرض سے نئے کلورٹ کا ڈیزائن اور تخمینہ تیار کر لیا گیا ہے۔ منصوبے کی تیاری میں موجودہ پانی کے بہاؤ کے ساتھ ساتھ مستقبل میں بڑھنے والی ضروریات کو بھی مدنظر رکھا گیا ہے، تاکہ آئندہ شدید بارشوں کے دوران پانی کی نکاسی میں رکاوٹ پیدا نہ ہو۔

سات کروڑ روپے کے فنڈز جاری ہونے کے بعد متعلقہ اداروں کو منصوبے پر ترجیحی بنیادوں پر کام شروع کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی ہے۔ نیشنل ہائی وے اتھارٹی (این ایچ اے) کو بھی منصوبے کو مقررہ مدت میں جلد مکمل کرنے کے لیے ضروری اقدامات اٹھانے کی ہدایت کی گئی ہے۔

دریں اثنا ڈپٹی کمشنر راولپنڈی کیپٹن (ر) ندیم ناصر نے مقامی انتظامیہ کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ گوجرخان سے بھائی خان تک ریلوے لائن کے ساتھ موجود نالوں اور دیگر نکاسی آب کی گزرگاہوں کا فوری اور جامع جائزہ لیا جائے۔ انہوں نے ہدایت کی کہ جہاں تجاوزات، مٹی، کچرے یا دیگر رکاوٹوں کے باعث پانی کے قدرتی یا تعمیر شدہ راستے متاثر ہو رہے ہیں، وہاں فوری رپورٹ تیار کرکے ضروری کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے۔

انتظامیہ کو یہ بھی ہدایت کی گئی ہے کہ نکاسی آب کی گزرگاہوں پر قائم تجاوزات کے خلاف قانون کے مطابق کارروائی کرتے ہوئے انہیں بحال کیا جائے، تاکہ بارش کے پانی کا بہاؤ بلا رکاوٹ جاری رہے اور شہری علاقوں میں پانی جمع ہونے کے مسئلے پر قابو پایا جا سکے۔

حکام کے مطابق گوجرخان میں نکاسی آب کے جامع اور مؤثر نظام کی تشکیل کے لیے مستقبل کی ضروریات کو سامنے رکھتے ہوئے منصوبہ بندی بھی کی جا رہی ہے۔ اس کا مقصد بارش کے پانی کی بروقت نکاسی کو یقینی بنانا اور شہری علاقوں، سڑکوں اور آبادیوں میں پانی جمع ہونے کے دیرینہ مسئلے کا مستقل بنیادوں پر تدارک کرنا ہے۔

اس موقع پر بریگیڈیئر (ر) قمر اعجاز کیانی کی گوجرخان اور اہلِ علاقہ کے ساتھ وابستگی اور عوامی مسائل کے حل کے لیے ان کی کاوشوں کو بھی سراہا گیا۔ مقامی حلقوں کے مطابق انہوں نے علاقے کے ایسے دیرینہ مسائل کے حل پر خصوصی توجہ مرکوز کی ہے جو طویل عرصے سے شہریوں کے لیے مشکلات کا باعث بنے ہوئے تھے۔

عوامی و سماجی حلقوں نے گوجرخان میں سیلابی صورتحال کے مستقل حل کے لیے فنڈز کے فوری اجرا پر ڈپٹی کمشنر راولپنڈی کیپٹن (ر) ندیم ناصر کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہوئے امید ظاہر کی ہے کہ منصوبے کو شفاف اور تیز رفتار انداز میں مکمل کیا جائے گا، جس سے نہ صرف قومی شاہراہ بلکہ ملحقہ آبادیوں کو بھی بارشوں کے دوران درپیش مشکلات سے نجات مل سکے گی۔

Gujar Khan (Pothwar.com, September 02, 2026): Following a visit to Gujar Khan by Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir and efforts by Brigadier (Retd.) Qamar Ijaz Kiani, Rs70 million in funds have been released for a project aimed at providing a permanent solution to recurring flooding and drainage problems in the Jandi Puli and Nagyal areas.

The flooding problem is particularly severe in the Nagyal area, where a drainage culvert on the N-5 has become obstructed and the water passage is inadequate. During heavy rainfall, the restricted flow of water causes flooding, creating difficulties for commuters on the national highway as well as residents of nearby settlements.

To address the issue on a permanent basis, a new culvert design and cost estimate have already been prepared. The proposed structure has been designed after taking into consideration both the existing water flow and anticipated future requirements, with the aim of ensuring efficient drainage during heavy rainfall.

Following the release of Rs70 million, the authorities have directed that work on the project be undertaken on a priority basis. The National Highway Authority (NHA) has also been instructed to take all necessary measures to ensure the project is completed at the earliest.

During his visit, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir further directed the local administration to conduct an immediate and comprehensive survey of drains and other drainage channels along the railway line from Gujar Khan to Bhai Khan.

The administration has been instructed to identify locations where drainage has been obstructed by encroachments, debris or other barriers. Reports are to be prepared promptly, followed by action against encroachments in accordance with the law and restoration of blocked drainage channels.

Officials are also working on a broader plan to develop a comprehensive and effective drainage system for Gujar Khan, keeping future requirements in view. The objective is to ensure the timely disposal of rainwater and address the longstanding problem of water accumulation on roads, in residential areas and across urban localities.

Brigadier (Retd.) Qamar Ijaz Kiani has also been credited with maintaining a strong connection with Gujar Khan and its residents and focusing on public welfare projects aimed at resolving longstanding local problems. His efforts have particularly focused on issues that have remained a source of hardship for residents for an extended period.

Local social and public circles welcomed the release of the funds and expressed their gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir for ensuring the prompt allocation of Rs70 million. They expressed hope that the drainage project would be completed efficiently and transparently, providing lasting relief to residents and motorists from recurring flooding during the rainy season.
