روات(پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام — اکرام الحق قریشی ||05 مارچ2026)— روات کے قریب واقع علاقے بگہ شیخاں میں اس وقت خوف اور تجسس کی فضا قائم ہو گئی جب ایک تیندوا اچانک ایک بلند و بالا برگد کے درخت پر بیٹھا نظر آیا۔ علاقے میں اس نوعیت کا یہ پہلا واقعہ تھا جسے دیکھنے کے لیے دیہاتیوں اور راہگیروں کی بڑی تعداد موقع پر جمع ہو گئی۔
عینی شاہدین کے مطابق تیندوے کو سب سے پہلے گاؤں کے مضافاتی زرعی رقبے کے قریب موجود صدیوں پرانے برگد کے درخت کی ایک موٹی شاخ پر پُرسکون انداز میں بیٹھے دیکھا گیا۔ ابتدا میں مقامی افراد نے اسے کوئی اور جانور سمجھا، تاہم جب لوگ قریب پہنچے تو اس کے جسم پر نمایاں دھبوں اور مضبوط ساخت نے واضح کر دیا کہ وہ واقعی ایک تیندوا ہے۔
چند ہی منٹوں میں یہ خبر گرد و نواح کے علاقوں میں پھیل گئی، جس کے بعد درجنوں افراد موقع پر پہنچ گئے۔ کچھ افراد موبائل فون سے تصاویر اور ویڈیوز بناتے رہے جبکہ دیگر ممکنہ خطرے کے پیش نظر خوفزدہ دکھائی دیے۔
عوامی تحفظ کے پیش نظر مقامی عمائدین نے فوری طور پر محکمہ وائلڈ لائف سے رابطہ کیا۔ محکمہ وائلڈ لائف کی ٹیم کچھ ہی دیر میں موقع پر پہنچ گئی اور علاقے کو گھیرے میں لے کر ہجوم کو دور کر دیا تاکہ جانور کو اشتعال نہ دلایا جائے۔
موقع پر موجود ماہرینِ وائلڈ لائف کا کہنا تھا کہ تیندوا بظاہر دباؤ کا شکار ہے تاہم اس نے کسی قسم کی جارحیت کا مظاہرہ نہیں کیا۔ انہوں نے شہریوں کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ محفوظ فاصلہ برقرار رکھیں اور شور شرابے سے گریز کریں کیونکہ خوف یا چھیڑ چھاڑ کی صورت میں جانور کا ردعمل غیر متوقع ہو سکتا ہے۔
ابتدائی اندازوں کے مطابق تیندوا قریبی جنگلاتی یا پہاڑی علاقوں سے خوراک کی تلاش یا قدرتی مسکن میں خلل کے باعث آبادی کی طرف آ نکلا ہو سکتا ہے۔ محکمہ وائلڈ لائف کی جانب سے جانور کو محفوظ طریقے سے قابو کر کے اس کے قدرتی مسکن میں منتقل کرنے کے لیے اقدامات جاری ہیں۔

The rare sighting quickly drew a large crowd of villagers and passersby who gathered to witness the wild animal for the first time in their area.
According to eyewitnesses, the leopard was first seen sitting calmly on a thick branch of the centuries-old banyan tree located near agricultural fields on the outskirts of the village. Initially, locals mistook it for another animal, but as people moved closer, the distinctive spotted coat and muscular build confirmed it was indeed a leopard.
Within minutes, news of the sighting spread across nearby neighbourhoods, prompting dozens of residents to rush to the scene. Some individuals were seen taking pictures and recording videos on their mobile phones, while others expressed fear over the potential danger the animal could pose.
Concerned about public safety, community elders immediately contacted the Punjab Wildlife Department for assistance. Officials from the department arrived shortly afterwards and cordoned off the area to prevent the crowd from provoking or disturbing the animal.
Wildlife experts at the scene stated that the leopard appeared to be stressed but not aggressive. They urged residents to maintain distance and avoid making loud noises, warning that panic or harassment could cause the animal to react unpredictably.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the leopard may have strayed into the area from nearby forested or hilly terrain, possibly in search of food or due to habitat disturbance.
