Gujar Khan: Long-Delayed Electricity Pole Installed in Bewal Bazaar

گوجرخان (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، 24 جولائی 2026ء) — گوجرخان روڈ پر واقع بیول بازار کے رہائشیوں اور تاجروں نے اس وقت سکھ کا سانس لیا جب عرصہ دراز سے خراب اور خطرناک حالت میں موجود بجلی کے کھمبے کو واپڈا نے تبدیل کر دیا۔ اس کھمبے کی خستہ حالی کے باعث کئی ماہ سے شہریوں، راہگیروں، گاڑیوں کے ڈرائیوروں اور قریبی دکانوں کو خطرات لاحق تھے، جبکہ عوام مسلسل اس مسئلے کے حل کا مطالبہ کر رہے تھے۔

مقامی رہائشیوں کے مطابق ماضی میں بھی واپڈا کی ٹیم متعدد بار موقع پر پہنچی، تاہم ہر بار کام مکمل نہ ہو سکا۔ ذرائع کے مطابق بعض سیاسی شخصیات اور کارکنان اس منصوبے کا کریڈٹ لینے کی کوششوں میں مصروف رہے، جس کے باعث کھمبے کی تنصیب مؤخر ہوتی رہی۔

ذرائع کا مزید کہنا ہے کہ نیا بجلی کا کھمبا کافی عرصے تک موقع پر موجود رہا، مگر سیاسی رسہ کشی اور باہمی اختلافات کے باعث اس کی تنصیب نہ ہو سکی، جس سے عوام کو غیر ضروری مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔

بالآخر واپڈا کی ٹیم نے کسی بھی سیاسی دباؤ یا مداخلت کے بغیر اپنی محکمانہ ذمہ داری ادا کرتے ہوئے ازخود کارروائی کی اور نیا بجلی کا کھمبا نصب کر دیا، جس سے علاقے میں درپیش ایک اہم عوامی مسئلہ حل ہو گیا۔

اس حوالے سے سب ڈویژنل آفیسر (ایس ڈی او) نے واضح کیا کہ بجلی کے کھمبے کی تنصیب میں کسی سیاسی رہنما یا سیاسی کارکن کا کوئی کردار نہیں تھا۔ ان کے مطابق یہ کام مکمل طور پر واپڈا کی اپنی محکمانہ کارروائی اور ذمہ داری کے تحت انجام دیا گیا۔

علاقہ مکینوں اور تاجروں نے واپڈا کے اس اقدام کا خیرمقدم کرتے ہوئے اطمینان کا اظہار کیا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا ہے کہ خطرناک کھمبے کی تبدیلی سے نہ صرف ایک بڑا حفاظتی خدشہ ختم ہوا ہے بلکہ شہریوں کو درپیش طویل عرصے کی پریشانی کا بھی خاتمہ ہو گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے مطالبہ کیا کہ مستقبل میں بھی عوامی نوعیت کے مسائل کو سیاسی مداخلت سے بالاتر ہو کر بروقت حل کیا جائے تاکہ شہریوں کو بلاوجہ مشکلات کا سامنا نہ کرنا پڑے۔

Gujar Khan (Pothwar.com | July 24, 2026) — Residents and traders in the Bewal Bazaar area on Gujar Khan Road have finally received relief after a long-standing damaged electricity pole was replaced by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), ending months of concern over public safety and disruption.

According to residents, the damaged electricity pole had remained in a hazardous condition for a considerable period, posing risks to pedestrians, motorists, and nearby businesses. Although WAPDA teams had previously visited the site to carry out the replacement, the work could not be completed.

Sources said that on earlier occasions, political rivalry and attempts by certain political figures to claim credit for the project delayed the installation. A new electricity pole had reportedly been lying at the site for an extended period, but the replacement work remained stalled due to ongoing political disagreements and competition over public recognition.

The matter was eventually resolved when WAPDA officials proceeded with the work independently and successfully installed the new electricity pole without any political involvement.

Speaking on the issue, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) clarified that no political worker or leader played any role in the completion of the project. He stated that the replacement of the electricity pole was carried out solely as part of WAPDA’s official responsibilities and departmental action.

Residents have welcomed the completion of the long-delayed work, expressing relief that the safety hazard has finally been removed. They also urged the authorities to ensure that essential public services are delivered promptly and without unnecessary delays caused by political interference.
