جمعرات کے روز انسدادِ دہشت گردی پولیس نے تحقیقات کی ذمہ داری سنبھال لی، تاہم حکام نے واضح کیا ہے کہ اس واقعے کو فی الحال دہشت گردی قرار نہیں دیا گیا۔

اسپتال میں زیر علاج میثم عبداللہ نے کہا کہ وہ صحت یاب ہو رہے ہیں لیکن ابھی بھی شدید درد میں ہیں۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ پولیس نے ان سے واقعے کے بارے میں بیان دینے کی درخواست کی ہے، تاہم وہ اس وقت ذہنی طور پر مزید گفتگو کے لیے تیار نہیں ہیں۔

دوسری جانب عبداللہ کی اہلیہ نے بتایا کہ حملے کی خبر ملنے پر انہیں ایک “انتہائی دل دہلا دینے والی” کال موصول ہوئی جس نے پورے خاندان کو شدید صدمے میں مبتلا کر دیا۔

واقعے میں دو طلبہ بھی زخمی ہوئے۔ ایک 14 سالہ طالبہ کے کندھے پر چوٹ آئی جبکہ ایک 14 سالہ طالب علم کے کان پر زخم آیا۔ دونوں کو طبی امداد فراہم کی گئی اور ان کی حالت خطرے سے باہر بتائی گئی۔

اسکول انتظامیہ نے عملے اور ہنگامی خدمات کے فوری ردعمل کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ بروقت کارروائی کے باعث مزید نقصان سے بچا جا سکا۔ متاثرہ طلبہ اور عملے کے لیے مشاورتی اور نفسیاتی مدد کی سہولیات بھی فراہم کی جا رہی ہیں۔

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at Co-op Academy in Higher Blackley, Manchester, when a 14-year-old girl allegedly launched a knife attack, leaving three people injured. The school was immediately placed under lockdown as emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m.
