Rawat: Around 80,000 Trees to Be Planted Along Rawalpindi Ring Road

روات(پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام — اکرام الحق قریشی |09 مارچ2026)38 کلومیٹر طویل راولپنڈی رنگ روڈ جو تکمیل کے آخری مراحل میں داخل ہو رہی ہے، اس کے دونوں اطراف اسی ہزار پودے لگانے کا منصوبہ تیار کر لیا گیا ہے۔

حکام کے مطابق شجرکاری کا یہ کام پارکس اینڈ ہارٹیکلچر اتھارٹی راولپنڈی کی جانب سے کیا جائے گا۔ پودے لگانے کا عمل اس وقت شروع ہوگا جب سڑک کے دونوں اطراف حفاظتی باڑ لگا دی جائے گی تاکہ پودوں کو محفوظ رکھا جا سکے۔

شجرکاری کا طریقہ کار

ادارے کے مطابق سڑک کے دونوں اطراف دس فٹ تک اونچے پودے لگائے جائیں گے۔انہوں نے بتایا کہ شجرکاری کو دو دو کلومیٹر کے حصوں میں تقسیم کیا جائے گا۔ ہر دو کلومیٹر کے حصے میں ایک ہی قسم کے پودے لگائے جائیں گے جبکہ اگلے حصے میں دوسری قسم کے پودے لگائے جائیں گے۔ اس طرح سفر کرنے والوں کو مختلف اقسام کے درختوں کے خوبصورت مناظر دیکھنے کو ملیں گے۔
پھلدار پودے بھی لگائے جائیں گے,اس منصوبے میں مقامی درختوں کے ساتھ ساتھ پھلدار پودے بھی شامل ہوں گے جن میں:جامن,خوبانی,لوکاٹ اس کے علاوہ دریائے سواں اور دیگر نالوں کے قریب والے علاقوں میں بانس بھی لگایا جائے گا۔

دیگر مقامی درختوں میں شامل ہیں:پاپولر,شیشم,پھلائی,دریک
حکام کے مطابق اس شجرکاری سے نہ صرف رنگ روڈ کی خوبصورتی میں اضافہ ہوگا بلکہ اردگرد کی آبادی کو بہتر ماحول اور صاف فضا بھی میسر آئے گی۔

Rawat (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | March 09, 2026) — The 38-kilometre-long Rawalpindi Ring Road, which is nearing completion, will soon become greener as authorities plan to plant 80,000 trees along both sides of the road.

According to officials, the plantation campaign will be carried out by the Parks and Horticulture Authority of Rawalpindi. The plantation work will start after the installation of boundary fencing along both sides of the road to ensure the protection of the plants.

Plantation Plan

Managing Director of the authority, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, said that large plants up to 10 feet in height will be planted along the road.

He explained that the plantation will be done in two-kilometre sections. One type of plant will be planted in a two-kilometre stretch, while another type will be planted in the next section. This pattern will continue along the entire road, creating a pleasant and scenic view for travellers.

Fruit and Local Trees

The project will include fruit and native trees such as:

• Syzygium cumini (Jamun)

• Prunus armeniaca (Apricot)

• Eriobotrya japonica (Loquat)

Bamboo will also be planted near water streams and drainage channels, including the Sawan River, to strengthen the surrounding ecosystem.

Other native trees,s including poplar, Dalbergia sissoo (Sheesham), phulai and Melia azedarach (Derek) will also be planted.

Officials say the plantation will not only enhance the beauty of the road but will also improve the environment for nearby communities.
