Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | December 27, 2025):
Two separate tragic incidents occurred in Kallar Syedan, resulting in the death of a 75-year-old woman at the hands of her stepson and the accidental death of a 30-year-old youth while making a TikTok video.
The first incident took place in Ward Saruha Chaudhriyan, Municipal Committee Kallar Syedan. According to the FIR lodged by the wife of Zafar Iqbal, her late uncle Jalil Ahmed had contracted two marriages. His second wife, Chand Bibi, a resident of Mansehra, had no children. Chand Bibi lived alone with her stepson, Ali Raza.
On the night of December 25, a quarrel broke out between Ali Raza and his stepmother. On the morning of December 26, at around 7:00 am, neighbours heard screams from the house. When the complainant and her husband reached the spot, they saw Ali Raza repeatedly attacking Chand Bibi with an axe, striking her on the head and neck. After she was injured, the accused picked up a knife and slit her neck, killing her on the spot.
When Zafar Iqbal tried to intervene, Ali Raza attacked him with the axe, injuring the complainant as well. Upon raising an alarm, their son Muhammad Alyan reached the scene, after which the accused fled.
Rescue 1122 and SHO Inspector Raja Aqib Raziq shifted the deceased and injured woman to THQ Hospital Kallar Syedan. Chand Bibi was later laid to rest in the local graveyard. City Police Officer Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Hamdani, sought a report of the incident, while Kallar Syedan Police arrested the accused soon after and initiated an investigation.
In the second incident, Kallar Syedan Police reported that Laik Zada informed police via the emergency helpline 15 that his friend Hamza, son of Gulzar, aged 30 and a resident of Mughal Abad, had come to his dera. Hamza was fond of making TikTok videos. During filming, a 9mm pistol accidentally discharged, hitting Hamza and causing his death on the spot.
Police shifted the body to THQ Hospital Kallar Syedan and have started investigating the case from multiple angles.
