Canada/ Kallar Syedan; Canadian Deputy Minister Dr. Harpreet Singh Visits Ancestral Village Dera Khalsa

کینیڈا/کلرسیداں (نمائندہ پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کوم — اکرام الحق قریشی | 26 نومبر 2025) —کینیڈا کے ڈپٹی وزیر برائے امیگریشن و مہاجرین ڈاکٹر ہرپریت سنگھ کوچر نے اپنے آبائی علاقے ڈیرہ خالصہ، کلر سیداں کا خصوصی دورہ کیا۔ اپنے باپ دادا کے گاؤں پہنچ کر انہوں نے گلیوں، کھیتوں اور قدیم کنوؤں کا جائزہ لیا اور ماضی کی یادوں میں کھو گئے۔

ڈاکٹر ہرپریت سنگھ نے بتایا کہ ان کے والد اور دادا ڈیرہ خالصہ سے ہجرت کرکے بھارت منتقل ہوئے تھے، لیکن اپنی جنم بھومی کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھتے تھے اور یہاں کے واقعات سناتے تھے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اگرچہ ہماری نسلیں بعد میں کینیڈا منتقل ہو گئیں، مگر دل سے ڈیرہ خالصہ کبھی نہیں نکلا۔ ہمیشہ خواہش تھی کہ ایک دن اس گاؤں کو اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھوں، اور آج وہ خواہش پوری ہو گئی۔

انہوں نے اپنے بزرگوں کی بتائی گئی نشانیوں—منگو رانی محل، پیپل کا پرانا درخت، باغ اور قدیمی کنوؤں—کا دورہ کیا اور حیرت کا اظہار کیا کہ سب کچھ اسی طرح موجود ہے جیسا انہیں سنایا گیا تھا۔ ڈاکٹر ہرپریت سنگھ نے کہا کہ کینیڈا میں وہ لوگوں کو گوگل کے ذریعے اپنا آبائی گاؤں دکھاتے تھے، مگر آج خود یہاں آکر حقیقی خوشی محسوس ہو رہی ہے۔

انہوں نے اپنے والدین کے گھر اور بزرگوں کے بتائے گئے نقشے کے مطابق دھرم شالہ اور بڑی بن کا بھی رخ کیا، جہاں موجود بزرگوں سے ماضی کی یادیں تازہ کیں۔ بعد ازاں وہ سابق نائب ناظم گف راجہ زاہد مرحوم کے گھر بھی گئے، جہاں مرحوم کے بیٹے راجہ احتشام زاہد اور ان کے بھائیوں نے ان کا پرتپاک استقبال کیا۔ اس موقع پر شیخ سلمان شمسی، حاجی ولید طارق، اور بلال مجید بھی موجود تھے۔

Canada/Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com — Ikram ul Haq Qureshi | November 26, 2025) —Dr. Harpreet Singh Kocher, Canada’s Deputy Minister for Immigration and Refugees, visited his ancestral village, Dera Khalsa in Kallar Syedan, during a private tour. The Canadian minister walked through the village streets, fields, and ancient wells, deeply moved as he reconnected with the memories of his forefathers.

Dr Harpreet Singh shared that his father and grandfather had migrated from Dera Khalsa to India many years ago, but always remembered their village with affection and often narrated stories from their past. He said that although his family later settled in Canada, the emotional connection to Dera Khalsa remained strong. Visiting the village had always been his dream, and destiny finally brought him back to his roots.

He explored important landmarks described by his elders, including the historic Mangoo Rani Palace, the old Peepal tree,the  surrounding orchards, and the ancient wells. He expressed amazement that many of these places looked exactly as they had been described to him.

Dr Harpreet Singh told locals that he often showed his Canadian friends his ancestral village through Google Maps, but seeing it in person was a heartfelt experience. He also visited his parents’ old home, the Dharamshala, and other sites marked on family maps, meeting elder residents and revisiting historical memories.

Later, he visited the home of the late former Naib Nazim Guff Raja Zahid, where he was warmly received by Raja Ehtisham Zahid and his brothers. Sheikh Salman Shamsi, Haji Waleed Tariq, and Bilal Majeed were also present on the occasion.
