Kallar Syedan: Rising Fuel, Power, and Fertilizer Costs Drive Vegetable and Fruit Prices Beyond Public Reach

چوآ خالصہ (چوہدری اُلفت، ویڈیو رپورٹر پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کوم | 22 اکتوبر 2025) – ایندھن، بجلی اور کھاد کی قیمتوں میں مسلسل اضافے کے باعث مقامی منڈیوں میں سبزیوں اور پھلوں کی قیمتوں میں بے پناہ اضافہ دیکھنے میں آ رہا ہے۔ زرعی اخراجات میں اضافے نے روزمرہ استعمال کی بنیادی غذائی اشیاء کو عام آدمی کی پہنچ سے دور کر دیا ہے۔

کاشتکاروں اور تاجروں کا کہنا ہے کہ پھلوں اور سبزیوں کی پیداوار اور ترسیل کے اخراجات میں کئی گنا اضافہ ہو گیا ہے۔ مہنگے ایندھن نے ٹرانسپورٹ کے کرایوں میں اضافہ کر دیا ہے، مہنگی کھاد نے کاشت کے اخراجات بڑھا دیے ہیں، جبکہ بجلی کے بھاری نرخوں نے چھوٹے کسانوں کے لیے آبپاشی کو مشکل بنا دیا ہے۔

زرعی ماہرین نے خبردار کیا ہے کہ اگر حکومت کی جانب سے کسانوں کو فوری ریلیف فراہم نہ کیا گیا تو بنیادی اشیائے خورونوش کی قیمتوں میں مزید اضافہ ہوگا، جس سے مہنگائی اور غذائی بحران میں شدت آ جائے گی۔ ان کا کہنا ہے کہ پھلوں اور سبزیوں کے کاشتکاروں کے لیے سبسڈی یا ہدفی ریلیف پروگرام متعارف کرانے سے منڈیوں میں استحکام لایا جا سکتا ہے۔

مقامی تاجروں کے مطابق بعض علاقوں میں اچھی پیداوار کے باوجود صارفین فائدہ نہیں اٹھا پا رہے کیونکہ بیچ کے دلال اور منڈی کے غیر منظم نظام نے قیمتوں کو مصنوعی طور پر بڑھا رکھا ہے۔ عوام نے حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ قیمتوں پر کنٹرول، براہِ راست منڈی نگرانی، اور کاشتکاروں کے لیے مراعاتی پالیسی نافذ کی جائے تاکہ سبزی اور پھل دوبارہ عام شہری کی پہنچ میں آ سکیں۔

The increasing cost of agricultural inputs has pushed essential food items beyond the reach of ordinary citizens.

Farmers and market traders report that the production and transportation costs of fruits and vegetables have surged dramatically. Expensive fuel has increased freight charges, costly fertiliser has raised cultivation expenses, and high electricity tariffs have made irrigation unaffordable for many small-scale farmers.

Agricultural experts warn that if immediate relief is not provided to growers, the prices of basic commodities will continue to climb, worsening inflation and food insecurity across the country. They emphasise that offering subsidies or targeted relief to fruit and vegetable growers could help stabilise market prices and restore balance to the supply chain.

Local traders added that despite bumper crops in some regions, consumers are unable to benefit due to excessive intermediary costs and a lack of government regulation in wholesale markets. Citizens have urged the government to intervene with price control measures and production incentives to ensure that fresh produce remains affordable for the general public.
