Rawat: Deadly Firing at Sahal Chowk: Councillor’s Brother Killed, Two Others Injured

روات(پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام — اکرم الحق قریشی | 21 اکتوبر 2025ء)راولپنڈی کے تھانہ چونترہ کی حدود میں واقع سہال چوک، چکری روڈ پر نامعلوم حملہ آوروں کی فائرنگ سے جنرل کونسلر چوہدری ثقلین آف سہال کا بھائی موقع پر ہی جاں بحق ہوگیا۔

پولیس کے مطابق فائرنگ کے نتیجے میں چوہدری ثقلین کے چچا اور دوسرا بھائی شدید زخمی ہوئے، جنہیں فوری طور پر اسپتال منتقل کیا گیا۔ تاہم اطلاعات کے مطابق زخمیوں میں سے ایک شخص دورانِ علاج دم توڑ گیا، جبکہ دوسرا اب بھی اسپتال میں موت و حیات کی کشمکش میں مبتلا ہے۔

واقعے کے بعد علاقے میں شدید کشیدگی پھیل گئی، جس کے باعث چکری روڈ اور سہال چوک کو ہر قسم کی ٹریفک کے لیے بند کردیا گیا۔ پولیس کی بھاری نفری موقع پر پہنچ کر حالات کو قابو میں رکھنے کی کوششوں میں مصروف ہے۔

ذرائع کے مطابق مدعی نے مبینہ طور پر چند افراد کے نام مقدمے میں نامزد کیے ہیں۔ پولیس حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ واقعے کی تحقیقات جاری ہیں اور ملزمان کی گرفتاری کے لیے چھاپے مارے جا رہے ہیں۔

دوسری جانب، علاقہ مکینوں اور مقتولین کے ورثاء نے شدید احتجاج کیا اور مطالبہ کیا کہ واقعے میں ملوث افراد کو فوری گرفتار کر کے عبرت ناک سزا دی جائے۔ مظاہرین نے کرائم کنٹرول ڈیپارٹمنٹ (CCD) پنجاب کے انچارج ایڈیشنل آئی جی سہیل ظفر چٹھا اور CCD افسر بینش فاطمہ سے فوری ایکشن لینے کی اپیل کی ہے۔

پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ جلد ہی واقعے کے حقائق سامنے لائے جائیں گے اور ملزمان کو قانون کے کٹہرے میں لایا جائے گا۔

Rawat (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | October 21, 2025): A tragic shooting took place in the Sahal Chowk area on Chakri Road, where unidentified assailants opened fire, resulting in the death of the brother of General Councillor Chaudhry Saqlain of Sahal.

According to police sources, the councillor’s brother died on the spot, while his uncle and another brother sustained serious injuries. One of the injured later succumbed to his wounds during treatment, while the other remains in critical condition and is fighting for his life.

The complainant has reportedly named several individuals as suspects in the case. Following the attack, tension gripped the area, and Chakri Road, along with Sahal Chowk, was completely closed to all types of traffic.

A heavy contingent of police was deployed at the scene to maintain order and prevent further violence. Authorities are working to bring the situation under control.

Residents and the victims’ families staged a strong protest, demanding swift justice. They called on Additional Inspector General (AIG) Sohail Zafar Chattha, head of the Punjab Crime Control Department (CCD), and CCD officer Ms. Banish Fatima to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible and to give them exemplary punishment.

Police officials confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway, and raids are being conducted at various locations to apprehend the suspects.
