London: Former UC Sui Cheemian Chairman and Respected Political Figure Malik Sher Afzal Awan on Visit to the UK

یونین کونسل سوئی چیمیاں (گوجر خان) کے سابق چیئرمین اور ایک معتبر سیاسی شخصیت ملک شیرافگن اعوان ان دنوں برطانیہ کے خیرسگالی دورے پر ہیں۔

اپنے دورے کے دوران، انہوں نے گوجر خان اور خطہ پوٹھوارسے تعلق رکھنے والے ممتاز کمیونٹی رہنماؤں اور سماجی کارکنوں سے ملاقاتیں کیں۔ ملاقاتوں میں بیرونِ ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں، خصوصاً پوٹھواری کمیونٹی کے کردار کو سراہا گیا اور پاکستان و برطانیہ کے درمیان کمیونٹی روابط کو مزید مضبوط بنانے کے امکانات پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔

ملک شیرافگن اعوان نے گفتگو میں کہا کہ اوورسیز پاکستانی وطن کی ترقی میں نہایت اہم کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں، اور ان کے تجربات اور وسائل کو مقامی سطح پر ترقیاتی منصوبوں میں شامل کرنا وقت کی اہم ضرورت ہے۔ انہوں نے نوجوان نسل کو اپنے ثقافتی ورثے سے جوڑنے، اردو اور پوٹھوہاری زبان کے فروغ، اور تعلیم و سماجی خدمات کے منصوبوں پر بھی زور دیا۔

اس موقع پر متعدد کمیونٹی رہنماؤں نے ان کی قیادت اور وژن کی تعریف کی اور امید ظاہر کی کہ ان جیسے رہنما دیارِ غیر میں موجود پاکستانیوں کی آواز کو قومی سطح پر پہنچانے کا ذریعہ بنیں گے۔یہ دورہ خطے کی ترقی اور اوورسیز کمیونٹی کے ساتھ روابط کو فروغ دینے کی سمت ایک مثبت قدم قرار دیا جا رہا ہے۔

Malik Sher Afgan Awan, former Chairman of Union Council Sui Cheemian (Gujar Khan) and a highly respected political figure, is currently on a goodwill visit to the United Kingdom.

During his visit, he met with prominent community leaders and social activists from the Gujar Khan and Pothwar regions. These meetings emphasised the important role of overseas Pakistanis, particularly the Pothwari community, and explored ways to strengthen ties between communities in Pakistan and the UK.

In his remarks, Malik Sher Afzal Awan acknowledged the significant contributions of overseas Pakistanis to the development of their homeland. He stressed the need to utilize their experience and resources in local development projects across Pakistan. He also highlighted the importance of engaging the younger generation with their cultural heritage, promoting both the Urdu and Pothwari languages, and encouraging initiatives in education and social welfare.

Several community leaders present at the gatherings praised Mr. Awan’s leadership and vision. They expressed hope that leaders like him will serve as a bridge between the diaspora and national platforms, ensuring that the voices of overseas Pakistanis are heard at home.

This visit is being viewed as a positive step towards enhancing regional development and fostering deeper connections between the overseas Pakistani community and their roots in Pakistan.
