Gujar Khan: Thakra Mor Road Construction Turns into a Nightmare for Locals, Residents Protest

دولتالہ تا ٹھاکرہ موڑ زیر تعمیر سڑک عوام کے لیے ریلیف کے بجائے وبالِ جان بن چکی ہے۔ دولتالہ کے مرکزی مقام پر سڑک پر پانی کا وسیع ذخیرہ جمع ہو چکا ہے، جہاں پیدل گزرنا تو دور کی بات، گاڑیاں بھی ان گڑھوں کو عبور کرنے سے قاصر ہو چکی ہیں۔

مقامی شہریوں کا کہنا ہے کہ ٹھیکیدار کی غفلت اور ناقص منصوبہ بندی کے باعث سڑک کے اطراف میں نکاسی آب کا کوئی مناسب انتظام نہیں کیا گیا۔ اگر سڑک کے ساتھ ساتھ نالوں کی تعمیر اور بھرائی کا کام بروقت مکمل کیا جاتا تو آج یہ صورتحال نہ ہوتی۔

عوامی و سماجی حلقوں نے ممبر صوبائی اسمبلی راجہ شوکت عزیز بھٹی سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وہ فوری طور پر نوٹس لیتے ہوئے ٹھیکیدار کو پابند کریں کہ وہ مون سون کی شدت سے قبل ان گڑھوں کو بند کرے اور نکاسی آب کے مؤثر انتظامات کرے تاکہ کسی بڑے حادثے سے بچا جا سکے۔

اہل علاقہ نے انتباہ دیا ہے کہ اگر بروقت اقدامات نہ کیے گئے تو کسی بھی جانی و مالی نقصان کی ذمہ داری متعلقہ محکمہ اور ٹھیکیدار پر عائد ہوگی۔

The ongoing construction of the Daultala to Thakra Mor road has become a source of distress rather than relief for the public. A large pool of stagnant water has formed at a central location in Daultala, making it nearly impossible for pedestrians to pass through, and even vehicles are struggling to navigate the deep potholes.

Local residents blame the contractor’s negligence and poor planning, stating that there is no proper drainage system in place along the roadside. They argue that if stormwater drains had been constructed and filled in a timely manner, the current hazardous situation could have been avoided.

Civic and social circles have urged Member of the Provincial Assembly Raja Shoukat Aziz Bhatti to take immediate notice of the issue and compel the contractor to fill the potholes and ensure proper drainage before the monsoon intensifies, in order to prevent serious accidents.

Residents have warned that if timely action is not taken, the relevant department and contractor will be held responsible for any potential loss of life or property.

ساون کی حالیہ موسلا دھار بارشوں نے سکھو کے علاقے میں شدید صورتحال پیدا کر دی، جہاں مقامی ندی نالے بپھر گئے اور پانی خطرناک حد تک بلند ہو گیا۔ مسلسل بارش کے باعث پانی کی سطح تیزی سے بلند ہوئی اور بالآخر سکھو اور کرنالی کو ملانے والے پل پر بہنے لگا۔

عینی شاہدین کے مطابق برساتی نالوں کا تیز ریلا مسافروں کے لیے شدید خطرے کا باعث بنا، خاص طور پر پل پر جہاں پانی کی سطح خطرناک حد تک پہنچ چکی تھی۔ صورتحال کسی بڑے حادثے میں تبدیل ہو سکتی تھی اگر مقامی پولیس فوری طور پر حرکت میں نہ آتی۔

سکھو پولیس چوکی کے دو اہلکار شدید بارش کے دوران مسلسل پل پر موجود رہے اور اپنی ڈیوٹی انجام دیتے رہے۔ ان کی موجودگی نے ٹریفک کو کنٹرول میں رکھا، گاڑیوں کو خطرناک اوقات میں پل عبور کرنے سے روکا اور عوام کو محفوظ رکھا۔

بروقت اقدامات اور بفضلِ خدا کسی ناخوشگوار واقعے یا جانی نقصان سے بچاؤ ممکن ہو سکا۔ مقامی افراد نے ان پولیس اہلکاروں کی ہمت اور فرض شناسی کو سراہا، جنہوں نے خراب موسم کے باوجود اپنی جان خطرے میں ڈال کر عوامی خدمت انجام دی۔

انتظامیہ نے شہریوں سے اپیل کی ہے کہ وہ مون سون کے دوران احتیاط برتیں، نچلے علاقوں اور سیلابی گزرگاہوں سے غیر ضروری سفر سے گریز کریں۔ ہنگامی سروسز کو بھی الرٹ پر رکھا گیا ہے تاکہ کسی بھی ممکنہ صورتحال سے فوری طور پر نمٹا جا سکے۔

Eyewitnesses reported that the fierce current of the rain-fed streams posed a serious threat to commuters, especially on the bridge where water levels rose significantly. The situation could have quickly turned disastrous had it not been for the presence and swift action of the local police.

Two officers from the Sukho police post braved the torrential rain and remained stationed at the bridge throughout the critical period. Their presence helped regulate traffic, prevent vehicles from crossing at dangerous times, and ensured public safety in the face of rising waters.

Thanks to their timely response and God’s grace, no untoward incident or loss of life occurred. Local residents appreciated the dedication of the officers who continued their duty in challenging weather conditions, risking their own safety to protect the public.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant during the ongoing monsoon season and to avoid unnecessary travel through low-lying or flood-prone areas. Emergency services have also been placed on alert to respond to any future situations.
