گوجرخان (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، رپورٹ: محمد نجیب جرال، 19 جولائی 2025) گورنمنٹ گرلز ہائی سکول نڑالی تحصیل گوجرخان کی سینکڑوں طالبات کی زندگیاں سنگین خطرے سے دوچار ہیں۔ سکول ایک ٹیلہ نما جگہ پر قائم ہے جہاں حالیہ طوفانی بارشوں کے باعث زمین کھسکنے (سلائیڈنگ) کا سلسلہ جاری ہے، اور کسی بھی لمحے پوری عمارت دھڑام سے نیچے جا سکتی ہے۔ذرائع کے مطابق یہ عمارت محض ایک سے ڈیڑھ کنال کے تنگ سے رقبے پر قائم ہے۔ عمارت کنکریٹ اور لوہے سے بنی ہونے کے باعث اس کا وزن زمین کے لیے ناقابل برداشت ہو چکا ہے۔ اگر فوری ایکشن نہ لیا گیا تو کسی دن درجنوں معصوم بچیاں اس غفلت کا شکار ہو سکتی ہیں۔

تعلیم کی قیمت، زندگی کی قیمت سے زیادہ؟طالبات اور اساتذہ کو سکول پہنچنے کے لیے تنگ و تاریک گلیوں سے گزرنا پڑتا ہے، جو ایمرجنسی کی صورت میں خطرہ مزید بڑھا دیتی ہیں۔ افسوسناک امر یہ ہے کہ سکول انتظامیہ صرف اپنی تنخواہوں اور تبادلوں میں مصروف ہے، جبکہ طالبات کی حفاظت ان کی ترجیحات میں شامل نہیں۔محکمہ تعلیم کی مجرمانہ خاموشی اور عدم دلچسپی ناقابل معافی ہے، حالانکہ قریبی علاقے میں نئی عمارت کے لیے زمین موجود ہے، مگر کسی نے آج تک اس پر سنجیدگی سے قدم نہیں اٹھایا۔

عوامی مطالبہ: فوری نوٹس لیا جائے!طالبات کے والدین، مقامی سیاسی و سماجی حلقے اور باشعور شہریوں نے وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب محترمہ مریم نواز صاحبہ، سیکرٹری تعلیم پنجاب اور دیگر متعلقہ اعلیٰ حکام سے فوری نوٹس لینے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔یہ کوئی معمولی شکایت نہیں بلکہ سینکڑوں گھروں کے چراغ بجھنے سے پہلے کی آخری پکار ہے۔

According to sources, the school occupies a cramped area of only 1 to 1.5 kanals. Constructed from heavy concrete and iron, the building’s weight has become unbearable for the weakened ground beneath it. Without urgent action, a potential collapse could claim the lives of dozens of innocent students.

In addition to structural dangers, students and teachers are forced to navigate narrow, dark alleys to reach the school—a serious concern during any emergency evacuation. Sadly, the school administration seems more concerned with salaries and transfers than with the safety of its pupils.

The silence and negligence from the Education Department are deeply troubling, especially since land is reportedly available nearby for constructing a new facility. Yet, no concrete steps have been taken.

Public Outcry:
Parents, local political and social figures, and concerned citizens have urgently appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Secretary of Education, and other authorities to take immediate notice of the situation. This is not a routine complaint—it is a desperate plea to prevent a potential tragedy.

گوجر خان (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، 19 جولائی 2025) — گوجر خان میں رات بھر جاری رہنے والی موسلا دھار بارش نے شہر کے مختلف علاقوں میں شدید سیلابی صورتحال پیدا کر دی، جس کے نتیجے میں گلیاں اور بازار ندی نالوں کا منظر پیش کرنے لگے۔ سڑکیں پانی میں ڈوب گئیں اور تجارتی سرگرمیاں مکمل طور پر معطل ہو کر رہ گئیں۔ شہریوں کو سارا دن پانی میں گھرے مکانات اور تباہ شدہ املاک کے ساتھ نبرد آزما ہونا پڑا۔

نشیبی علاقوں، خصوصاً حلوائی گلی، کٹڑہ لکڑی، کٹڑہ تمباکو اور سر روڈ میں بارش کا پانی دکانوں اور گھروں میں داخل ہو گیا، جس سے لوگوں کو بھاری مالی نقصان اٹھانا پڑا۔ اندرون شہر کی تنگ گلیاں تقریباً دو فٹ پانی میں ڈوب گئیں، جس سے نقل و حرکت مشکل ہو گئی اور عوام کو صحت و سلامتی کے خطرات کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔

شہر کے درمیان سے گزرنے والا مرکزی نالہ بھی ابل پڑا، جس نے محلہ بابو گلاب، ڈھوک شاہ زمان، ڈھوک میر باز اور ڈھوک وادی جیسے گنجان آباد علاقوں میں تباہی مچا دی۔ گھروں میں پانی داخل ہونے سے فرنیچر، برقی آلات اور کھانے پینے کی اشیاء شدید متاثر ہوئیں، جبکہ بعض خاندانوں کو اپنے گھر عارضی طور پر خالی کرنا پڑے۔

شہریوں نے میونسپل حکام پر شدید برہمی کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بلدیہ کی غفلت اور نالوں کی پیشگی صفائی نہ ہونے کے باعث یہ صورتحال پیدا ہوئی۔ ان کے مطابق نکاسی آب کا نظام مکمل طور پر ناکام ہو چکا ہے، جس میں مٹی، کوڑا کرکٹ اور رکاوٹیں جمع ہو کر پانی کے بہاؤ میں رکاوٹ بن رہی ہیں۔

عوام نے صوبائی حکومت، ضلعی انتظامیہ اور مقامی حکام سے فوری اقدامات کا مطالبہ کیا ہے، جن میں شامل ہیں:

شہر کے نکاسی آب کے نظام کا مستقل حل

صفائی کے نظام کی بہتری اور بروقت دیکھ بھال

یہ واقعہ گوجر خان کے کمزور انفراسٹرکچر کی ایک واضح مثال ہے اور اس بات کا تقاضا کرتا ہے کہ مون سون سے قبل منصوبہ بندی اور تیاری کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔ بصورت دیگر، ہر سال ایسے حادثات شہریوں کے لیے معمول بنتے جائیں گے۔

The downpour paralyzed daily life, with roads submerged and commercial activity brought to a halt. Residents across the city spent the day dealing with waterlogged homes and damaged properties.

In low-lying areas such as Halwai Gali, Katra Lakri, Katra Tambaku, and Sir Road, rainwater poured into shops and houses, inflicting serious financial damage. Narrow alleyways and inner-city streets were submerged under nearly two feet of water, making access difficult and posing health and safety risks to the public.

The main drainage channel that flows through the city overflowed, flooding densely populated neighbourhoods such as Mohalla Babu Gulab, Dhoke Shah Zaman, Dhok Meer Baaz, and Dhoke Wadi. Water entered homes in these areas, damaging furniture, appliances, and food supplies, and forcing some families to evacuate temporarily.

Local residents expressed outrage at the municipal authorities, blaming the flooding on the failure to clean drains and nullahs ahead of the monsoon season. According to them, the negligence of the Municipal Committee allowed silt and debris to clog the drainage system, preventing the smooth flow of water and exacerbating the flood situation.

Many citizens are calling on the provincial government, district administration, and local authorities to take urgent action. Their demands include:

• Immediate cleaning of clogged drains and nullahs

• Permanent solutions to the city’s drainage problems

• Regular maintenance and better waste management to prevent future flooding

This event serves as a stark reminder of the city’s fragile infrastructure and the pressing need for proactive planning in anticipation of seasonal rains. Without intervention, such disasters may become an annual ordeal for the people of Gujar Khan.
