Rawat: Pothwar.com, Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi – February 11, 2025) – Muhammad Qasim emerged victorious in Rawalpindi’s first-ever mini marathon. Muhammad Usman secured second place, while Babar Ali finished third.
The event was organized on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, with approximately 4,000 athletes participating. The race took place from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Dr. Hassan Tariq. Several notable officials, including CEO Education Amanullah Khan, Deputy Director Information Tabinda Saleem, District Officer Education Ijaz-ul-Haq, and DO Sports Muhammad Shams, attended the event alongside a large number of spectators. The Chief Minister distributed shirts among all participating athletes.
The marathon began at Liaquat Bagh Sports Complex and concluded at Shehbaz Sharif Sports Complex. Muhammad Qasim was declared the winner, followed by Muhammad Usman in second place and Babar Ali in third.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at Shehbaz Sharif Sports Complex, with Member of the Provincial Assembly and Chairman of the CM Inspection Team, Raja Muhammad Hanif, as the chief guest. He appreciated the participants and emphasized that Punjab is full of talented athletes. He highlighted that CM Maryam Nawaz is committed to promoting sports in the province, which will help discover new talent through cultural and healthy activities.
