London: East Sussex Mosque Fire Treated as Hate Crime, Police Launch Investigation

لندن (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، محمد نصیر راجہ – 15 اکتوبر 2025):ایسٹ سسیکس کی مسجد میں ہفتے کی شب پیش آئے آتش زدگی کے واقعے کے بعد پولیس نے نفرت انگیز جرم کے طور پر تحقیقات کا آغاز کر دیا۔

مسجد کے ایک رضاکار کے مطابق منہ چھپائے 2 افراد نے مسجد میں داخل ہونے میں ناکامی پر مرکزی دروازے اور سامنے کھڑی کار پر کچھ چھڑک کر آگ لگا دی، واقعے کے وقت مسجد میں 2 افراد موجود تھے، جو بچ نکلنے میں کامیاب ہو گئے۔

تفصیل کے مطابق ہفتے کی شب پیس ہیون میں 9 بج کر 50 منٹ پر ایمرجنسی سروسز کو طلب کیا گیا۔سسیکس پولیس کے مطابق آتشزنی کے واقعے میں کوئی بھی شخص زخمی نہیں ہوا، پولیس نے علاقے میں گشت بڑھا دیا ہے۔

سسیکس پولیس ڈیٹکٹیو سپرنٹنڈنٹ کیری بوہنا کا کہنا ہے کہ اس واقعے کے سبب مسلم کمیونٹی کے تحفظات سے آگاہ ہیں، عینی شاہدین رابطہ کریں، کاؤنٹی میں ایسے واقعات کی کوئی جگہ نہیں، نفرت انگیز جرائم سے متعلق زیرو ٹالرنس کی پالیسی ہے۔

Police have launched an investigation into a suspected hate crime following a fire incident at a mosque in East Sussex on Saturday night.

According to a mosque volunteer, two masked individuals attempted to enter the mosque and, upon failing, poured a flammable substance on the main door and a nearby parked car before setting them on fire. At the time of the incident, two people were inside the mosque but managed to escape unharmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Peacehaven at around 9:50 p.m. Sussex Police confirmed that no one was injured in the blaze and that patrols in the area have been increased as a precaution.

Detective Superintendent Kerry Bohea of Sussex Police stated that authorities are aware of the Muslim community’s concerns following the attack and urged eyewitnesses to come forward. She emphasised that such acts have no place in the county and reaffirmed the police’s “zero-tolerance policy” toward hate crimes.
