Gujar Khan: Petrol Price Soars by Rs. 18.54 in Just Six Weeks — Public Outcry Across Mandra, and Bewal

گوجرخان / مندرہ/بیول (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، محمد نجیب جرال، 17 جولائی 2025)—
صرف ڈیڑھ ماہ میں پٹرول کی قیمت میں 18 روپے 54 پیسے فی لیٹر کا اضافہ کر کے حکومت نے عوام دشمنی کی نئی مثال قائم کر دی۔
حالیہ اضافے کے بعد پٹرول کی قیمت 272 روپے 15 پیسے فی لیٹر تک جا پہنچی ہے، جس نے غریب اور متوسط طبقے کی کمر توڑ دی ہے۔

تفصیلات کے مطابق
• 16 جون کو 4 روپے 80 پیس اضافہ کیا گیا۔
• 01 جولائی کو مزید 8 روپے 36 پیسے بڑھائے گئے۔
• اور 16 جولائی کو ایک بار پھر 5 روپے 36 پیسے کا اضافہ کر کے عوام کو شدید جھٹکا دیا گیا۔

عوام سراپا احتجاج، رکشہ ڈرائیوروں اور کسانوں کی چیخیں نکل گئیں,گوجرخان، دولتالہ، بیول، مندرہ اور قرب و جوار کے علاقوں میں شہری سخت غصے میں ہیں۔
ایک رکشہ ڈرائیور محمد ارشد نے کہا:
“ہمیں ہر روز پٹرول بھرانا پڑتا ہے، کرایہ وہی پرانا اور پٹرول تین مہینوں میں تین گنا ہو گیا ہے، اب بچوں کا پیٹ پالیں یا گاڑی چلائیں؟”

بیول سے تعلق رکھنے والے ایک کسان حاجی شبیر نے کہا:
“ٹریکٹر کا ڈیزل، کھاد، سپرے، سب کچھ مہنگا ہو گیا۔ حکمرانوں کو صرف کرسی سے مطلب ہے، غریب مر رہا ہے یا جئے، ان کو کوئی پروا نہیں۔”
عوامی نمائندے بھی چپ، اپوزیشن خاموش، عوام سڑکوں پرعوامی سطح پر ردِعمل شدید ہے، لیکن افسوس کہ حکومتی وزراء اور مقامی نمائندے خاموش تماشائی بنے بیٹھے ہیں۔

In just one and a half months, the government has increased petrol prices by Rs. 18.54 per litre, drawing sharp criticism and sparking public outrage across the region. With the latest hike, petrol now costs Rs. 272.15 per litre — a blow that has deeply affected the working class and lower-income families.

According to details:

• On June 16, the price was raised by Rs. 4.80.

• On July 1, another Rs. 8.36 was added.

• On July 16, the government imposed a further increase of Rs. 5.36 per litre.

The cumulative effect has left citizens reeling. In areas like Gujar Khan, Daultala, Bewal, and Mandra, protests are intensifying. Rickshaw drivers, farmers, and daily wage earners say they can no longer make ends meet.

Muhammad Arshad, a rickshaw driver, said:
“We need petrol every day, but fares haven’t changed. Petrol prices have tripled in just a few months — should we feed our children or run our vehicles?”

Haji Shabbir, a farmer from Bewal, added:
“Diesel for tractors, fertilisers, sprays — everything is expensive now. The rulers only care about their seats. Whether the poor live or die, it makes no difference to them.”

Despite public anger, there has been silence from elected officials and opposition parties. Citizens feel abandoned, as protests grow louder with no government response in sight.
