خان کو عدالت کی طرف سے مکمل ٹرائل کے بعد مجرم قرار دیا گیا، اور اب وہ سزا کا آغاز کر چکا ہے۔ جج نے اس کی لاپرواہی اور ندامت کی کمی کو جرم میں اضافی سنگینی کا باعث قرار دیا۔ویسٹ یارکشائر پولیس اور بچوں کے تحفظ کے اداروں نے متاثرہ بچوں کی ہمت اور بہادری کو سراہا، جنہوں نے آگے بڑھ کر انصاف کی راہ ہموار کی۔

ویسٹ یارکشائر پولیس کے ترجمان کا کہنا تھا:”یہ کیس اس بات کی مثال ہے کہ ہم بچوں کے ساتھ زیادتی کرنے والوں کو، چاہے وہ کہیں بھی چلے جائیں یا کتنی بھی مدت گزر جائے، قانون کے کٹہرے میں لانے کے لیے پرعزم ہیں۔”

London – A Bradford man who fled to Pakistan to avoid facing trial over multiple child sexual assault charges has now been sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison after being brought back to the UK.

Jibrhan Khan, 41, of Mannville Terrace, Great Horton, was sentenced on Thursday for a series of non-recent sexual offences against young children. His victims were left deeply affected by his predatory actions, which took place over several years.

The court heard that Khan fled the UK when the investigation against him began, attempting to evade justice by traveling to Pakistan. However, efforts by law enforcement and international cooperation ensured that he was eventually returned to face the charges in a British court.

One of Khan’s victims recalled him saying he “couldn’t help himself” during one of the incidents, a chilling admission that highlighted his disturbing behavior.

Deputy Circuit Judge Timothy Clayson, while sentencing Khan, stated:

“There’s really no mitigation arising from the offences at all. Your actions caused lasting harm and trauma to your victims. Fleeing the country shows a clear attempt to avoid responsibility for your crimes.”

Khan was found guilty after a trial and has now begun serving his prison sentence. The judge noted that Khan’s lack of remorse and the deliberate attempt to avoid prosecution made his actions even more reprehensible.

Child protection agencies and victim support services have praised the courage of the survivors who came forward and supported the investigation. A spokesperson from West Yorkshire Police said,

“This case demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that those who harm children – no matter how much time has passed or where they try to hide – will be brought to justice.”
