London: Yasmine Dar has been elected as the first Pakistani-born Muslim woman Lord Mayor of Manchester

لندن (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، محمد نصیر راجہ، 19 مئی 2023) – یاسمین ڈار مانچسٹر کی پہلی پاکستانی نژاد مسلمان خاتون لارڈ میئر منتخب ہوگئیں۔
یاسمین ڈار کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ مانچسٹر کی لارڈ میئر کا کردار نبھانے پر فخر محسوس کر رہی ہیں۔کونسلر ڈار جنوبی یارکشائر میں پیدا ہوئے لیکن ان کی پرورش مانچسٹر میں ہوئی اور وہ پچاس سال سے زیادہ عرصے سے شہر میں مقیم ہیں۔
کونسلر ڈار نے کہا: “میں مانچسٹر سٹی کا لارڈ میئر بننے پر واقعی عاجزی اور فخر محسوس کر رہی ہوں اور میں اس عظیم شہر کے لوگوں کی نمائندگی کرنے کا انتظار نہیں کر سکتی۔ “میں 2014 سے موسٹن میں کونسلر ہوں، میں شہر بھر کی کمیونٹیز کی مدد کرنے اور ان کے ساتھ جڑنے کا شوق رکھتی ہوں اور مجھے امید ہے کہ لارڈ میئر کا میرا کردار اس میں میری مدد کرے گا۔”

یاسمین کو ان کی بیٹی آمنہ لیڈی میئر کے طور پر، اور اس کے بھائی ماجد ڈار بطور کنسرٹ اس سال کے دوران سپورٹ کریں گے۔

Yasmine Dar says she is ‘honoured’ to be taking up the role of Lord Mayor of Manchester.

Councillor Dar was born in South Yorkshire but was raised in Manchester and has lived in the city for over fifty years.

Councillor Dar, said: “I am truly humbled and honoured to be the Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester. I am a proud Mancunian and I cannot wait to represent the people of this great city. “I have been a Councillor in Moston since 2014, I am passionate about helping and connecting with communities across the city and I hope my role of Lord Mayor will help me do this.”

Yasmine will be supported by her daughter Amina as Lady Mayoress, and her brother Majid Dar as Consort during her year.
