Norway; Bridge Builder Awards were given to important personalities of three major religions.

اوسلو:(نمائندہ پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کوم ,عقیل قادر،29نومبر2021)— 14 اگست کمیٹی ناروے کے زیراہتمام بریج بلڈرایوارڈز کی تقریب اوسلو کی خوبصورت عمارت اوپرا ہاؤس میں منعقد کی گئی جس میں بڑی تعداد میں لوگوں نے شرکت کی۔ 14 اگست کمیٹی ہر سال بریج بلڈر ایوارڈز کی تقریب کا انعقاد اگست میں کرتی ہے مگر کرونا وباء کی وجہ سے تقریب کو نومبر کے مہینے میں منعقد کیا گیا۔تقریب کی صدارت چودہ اگست کمیٹی کے چیئرمین عامر شیخ نے کی جبکہ نقابت کے فرائض ناروے کے سابق وزیر اعظم شیل مانگنے بوندویک نے ادا کیے۔عامر شیخ نے تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی کی اہمیت پر زور دیا۔ یہ ایوارڈزان تین مختلف مذاہب کی شخصیات کو دیئے گئے ہیں جو بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی اور امن و سلامتی کے لیے اپنا کردار ادا کر رہی ہیں۔ مسلم ورلڈ لیگ کے جنرل سیکریڑی ڈاکٹر محمد بن عبدالکریم عیسی، ورلڈ کونسل آف چرچز کے جنرل سیکریٹری پروفیسر ڈاکٹر loan Saucaاور یہودی مذہب سے تعلق رکھنے والے Michael Melchior کو ایوارڈز سے نوازا گیا۔ پاکستانی کمیونٹی کی جانب سے Michael Melchior کو چودہ اگست کمیٹی کے پلیٹ فارم سے ایوارڈ دینے پر سخت تنقید کا نشانہ بھی بنایا گیا۔کمیونٹی کا کہنا تھا کہ جب مائیکل ملکیور اسرائیلی حکومت کا حصہ تھے تو اس وقت بے گناہ فلسطینیوں کو شہید کیا گیا۔ دوسری جانب عامر شیخ کا کہنا تھا کہ Michael Melchior کے ماضی میں کیے گئے کاموں کے وہ ذمہ دار نہیں ہیں بلکہ ان کا مقصد امن کے لیے کوشاں شخصیت کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنا ہے تاکہ امن کے فروغ کے لیے کام کیا جا سکے۔ اس موقع پر ایوارڈ ونر زنے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ وہ بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی اور رواداری کو انتہائی اہمیت دیتے ہیں او ر تمام مذاہب کو احترام کی نظر سے دیکھتے ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر محمد بن عبدالکریم عیسی نے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی پید ا کرنے کے لیے مثبت کردار اداکیا جائے تو اس سے دوریاں قربت میں، عداوت دوستی اور محبت میں اور دل آزاری کو رواداری میں بدلا جا سکتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ امن و سلامتی اورمعاشرے کی اصلاح کے لیے کام کرتے رہیں گے۔ پروگرام کے آخر پر عربی فنکاروں کی جانب سے خوبصورت گیت بھی پیش کیے گئے اور مہمانوں کی تواضع پُرتکلف کھانوں سے کی گئی۔

These awards are given to personalities of three different religions who are playing their role for inter-religious harmony and peace and security. The awards were presented to Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa, General Secretary of the Muslim World League, Prof. Dr. Lone Sauca, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, and Michael Melchior, a Jew.

Michael Melchior was also severely criticized by the Pakistani community for giving the award from the committee’s platform on August 14. The community said that innocent Palestinians were martyred when Michael Melchior was part of the Israeli government.

On the other hand, Amir Sheikh said that he is not responsible for the work done by Michael Melchior in the past but his aim is to encourage the person working for peace so that work can be done for the promotion of peace.

Speaking on the occasion, the award winner said that he attaches utmost importance to inter-faith harmony and tolerance and treats all religions with respect. Dr Muhammad bin Abdul Kareem Issa, in his address, said that if a positive role is played in creating inter-faith harmony, it can turn distances into closeness, enmity into friendship and love and heartache into tolerance.

He said that he would continue to work for peace and security and reform of the society. At the end of the program, beautiful songs were performed by Arabic artists and the guests were treated to a hearty meal.
