کروٹ پاور پراجیکٹ کیلئے خریدی گئی سرکاری اراضی کروٹ پاور پراجیکٹ کمپنی کے نام منتقل ہوگئی ۔موجودہ پنجاب کابینہ کی طرف سے منظوری کے بعد معاہدہ پر دستخط ڈپٹی کمشنر راولپنڈی محمد علی رندھاوا اور سی ای او کمپنی نے کئے۔ کروٹ پاور پراجیکٹ کیلئے کہوٹہ میں محکمہ جنگلات کی ایکوائر شدہ تقریبا1870اعشاریہ77کنال اراضی کمپنی کے نام ہوئی ہے۔ کہوٹہ فاریسٹ لینڈ کے بدلے راولپنڈی میں متبادل جنگل کیلئے 1904 کنال 18 مرلہ اراضی موضع مجاہد میں کمپنی نے لے کر دی ہوئی ہے۔ کروٹ پاور کمپنی کہوٹہ کے قریب کروٹ کے مقام پر دریائے جہلم پر720میگا واٹ کے ہائیڈل پراجیکٹ پر کام کررہی ہے۔ 720میگا واٹ کےایک اعشاریہ سات بلین ڈالر کروٹ ہائیڈل پاور پراجیکٹ نے2021میں مکمل ہونا ہے۔
Kahuta; Over 1870 Kanal official land in Kahuta has been transferred in the name of Karot power project company, the decision has been approved by Punjab cabinet. The land is now owned by Karot power project.
The Karot Hydropower Project is an under construction run-of-river concrete-core rockfill gravity dam in Pakistan with an installed capacity of 720 MW. The Karot Hydropower Station in Pakistan is the first investment project of the Silk Road Fund, is part of the much larger CPEC China–Pakistan Economic Corridor, and is expected to be completed in 2020.
The Karot project is being developed by Karot Power Company comprising Three Gorges South Asia Investment Limited, a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation, China-CTGC and Associated Technologies of Pakistan. It is the first hydropower project financed by China’s Silk Road Project.
After completion, the company will run and maintain the project for 30 years at a levelised tariff of 7.57 cents per unit after which it will be transferred to the Punjab government at a notional price of Rs.1.
