برمنگھم میں خوفناک ڈرائیونگ کے نتیجے میں اپنے ساتھ بیٹھے مسافر کی ہلاکت کا سبب بننے والے حماد امین کو چھ سال جیل ی سزا نا دی گئی۔ عدالت میں بتایا گیا کہ کس طرح حماد سڑک کی غلط سائیڈ پر گاڑی چلا رہا تھا۔ جس کے نتیجے میں اس کی گاڑی سامنے سے آنے والی وین سے جاٹکرائی۔حماد اس سے پہلے کئی بار تیز رفتاری پر پولیس کی نظروں میں آچکا تھامگر وہ پولیس کو جُل دینے میں کامیاب ہو جاتا تھا۔اس سے پہلے چوری کی گاڑی میں رہائشی علاقے مین اسی میل کی رفتار سے گاڑی چلاتے ہوئے پولیس سے بچنے کی خاطر اس نے گاڑی لال بتی پر بھی نہیں روکی۔ اور اس کی گاڑی ایک راہ گیر سے ٹکراتے ٹکراتے بچی۔
مگر جب چوری کی وہی گاڑی پولیس کو ایک دوسرے علاقے میں نظر آئی توتو حماد نے پولیس سے بچنے کی خاطر گاڑی مخالف سمت سے آنے والی سڑک پر ڈال دی۔جس سےا س کی گاڑی سامنے سے آنے والی مرسیڈیز وین سے جا ٹکرائی حادثے کے بعد حماد فوراًہی گاڑی سے رفوچکر ہوگیا مگر پولیس نے اسے قریبی پارک سے گرفتار کر لیا جبکہ اس کے ساتھ بیٹھے سترہ سالہ نوجوان کے سر پر شدید چوٹیں آئیں اور وہ جانبر نہ ہوسکا۔ حماد نے عدالت مین اپنا جرم قبول کر لیا اور اسے چھ سال کی سزا سنائی گئی۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ اٹھارہ سالہ حماد کو آٹھ سال کے لیے کسی بھی قسم کی ڈرائیونگ سے بین کر دیا گیا۔
Birmingham; Hammad Amin who fled after crashing into a van while driving on the wrong side of the road in killing one of his passengers – has been jailed for six years.
Hammad Amin had earlier hit speeds in excess of 80mph in residential areas in Birmingham after failing to stop for police who were alerted that the VW Golf he was driving was stolen.After an initial pursuit through Sheldon, the then 17-year-old went through a red light and nearly hit a pedestrian.
He went towards on-coming traffic along Coventry Road and forced other vehicles to take evasive action although he struck a taxi on his way through. In the interest of public safety, the pursuit was abandoned.
The Golf was then spotted on the A4040 Church Road where it mounted the central reservation to get away from police. The car went the wrong way down the dual carriageway where it then hit a Mercedes Sprinter van. Amin ran off in an attempt to flee the scene but he was promptly arrested in a nearby park.
A 17-year-old passenger who was in the back of the car suffered a serious head injury, and sadly died soon after. Amin pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and sentenced to six years in a young offenders institute at Birmingham Crown Court. Amin, who is now aged 18 and of Coventry Road, Small Heath, was also banned from the road for eight years.
