پاکستان نزاد کونسلر عاصم رشید کو گریٹر مانچسٹر میئر نے اپنی کابینہ میں گریٹر مانچسٹر پولیس امور کا ااہم عہدہ دیا ہے جو ڈپٹی میئر کے برابر ہے یہ پاکستانی و نسلی اقلیتوں کیلئے بڑا اعزاز ہے قبل ازیں مانچسٹر کے پہلے میئر ٹونی لائلڈ نے بھی کونسلر عاصم رشید کو اپنی کابینہ میں اہم پوزیشن دی تھی۔ کونسلر عاصم رشید پاکستانی کمیونٹی کے ساتھ ساتھ تمام کمیونٹیز کی یکساںن خدمت کے لئے پیش پیش رہتے ہیں انہوں نے ملٹی کلچر اور مساوات کیلئے انتھک کو ششین کی ہیں۔ عاصم رشید پاکستانی کونسلرز فورم یوکے کے بھی چیئر پرسن ہیں۔ کونسلر عاصم رشید کا کہناہے کہ وہ برطانوی معاشرے میں پاکستانی کمیونٹی کو قومی دھارے میں لاکر با وقار بنانے کیلئے کوششیں کرتےرہیں گے انہوں نے کہا ہےکہ وہ تمام کمیونٹیز کی بلا امتیازرنگ و نسل خدمت کے لئے کوشاں رہیں گے ۔
Manchester; Councillor Aasim Rashid has been appointed as a Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Deputy. Councillor Rashid was nominated by council leader, Councillor Richard Farnell, but will support leaders from other authorities.
GMCA portfolio responsibilities are divided between the GM Mayor and the leaders of the 10 Greater Manchester local authorities. GMCA portfolios include housing, transport and skills and employment. Newly created portfolios include Fairness,
Equalities and Cohesion and Culture, Arts and Leisure. GMCA Leaders work together with the chief executives of the 10 authorities and partner organisations, such as Transport for Greater Manchester, to carry out their GM roles.
Changes to the portfolios and portfolio holders follows the devolution of more powers though GM’s fourth devolution agreement and the arrival of a number of new leaders following May’s local elections.
