Rawat: Daylight robbery incident in Rawat Bazar

Rawat, Pothwar.com, Ikram Ul Haq Qureshi, November 30, 2023 — In a brazen daylight robbery in Rawat Bazaar, three armed suspects robbed two individuals of Rs. 10 lakh in cash and snatched two mobile phones. The incident occurred as the clock struck one in the afternoon.

According to Qazi Naeem Javaid, who runs a grocery store in Rawat Bazaar, the victims were targeted while unloading flour sacks from a delivery truck. The armed assailants forcibly entered the scene, brandishing weapons, and demanded Rs. 1 lakh in cash from him. Additionally, they targeted Chaudhry Naseer, a wheat flour dealer, and looted Rs. 9 lakh in cash along with mobile phones.

The police were promptly informed of the incident by Qazi Naeem Javaid. The suspects fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive. The local police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits.

The victims, while shaken by the incident, were not physically harmed during the robbery. The community in Rawat Bazaar is expressing concern over the increasing frequency of such criminal activities and is urging authorities to enhance security measures in the area.
