London: Sajad Hussain a Romance fraudster to pay off gambling debts is jailed

Sajad Hussain formerly of Birmingham now living in Bradford spent six years emotionally manipulating three victims under a false name, making up elaborate sob stories to persuade them to part with more than £200,000, pretending he was a police officer to win their trust, misleading them into thinking they would be repaid, juggling multiple relationships, and then cutting off all contact when he found a new target.

After pleading guilty to five counts of fraud by false representation in April, Sajad Hussain appeared at Swindon Crown Court to be sentenced.

Judge Jason Taylor KC jailed him for five years and four months, half of which will be served in jail and the rest on the license, calling Hussain “selfish” and “lacking in compassion”.
