Norway: Teams from Denmark and England participated in tent pegging competitions in Oslo

Norway: (Pothwar.com, 23, July 2024) –The historic city of Oslo recently played host to an exhilarating display of skill and horsemanship as teams from Denmark and England competed in a series of tent pegging competitions. The event, held at the city’s premier equestrian venue, drew enthusiasts and spectators from across the region, eager to witness the thrilling sport.

The game was led by Chaudhry Hasnain Nazir. President of PTI Norway Haji Afzal and Khalid Mahmood Chaudhry were the chief guests of the event. Syed Abrar Shah won the first position in tent pegging and awarded shields and prizes to the winners of the competitions.

Pakistani community came to watch tent pegging competitions. Also present at the event were Chaudhry Nazir Ahmad, Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas, Chaudhry Hamza Ilyas, tent pegging judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas Bhau, Chaudhry Mohsin Nazir and others as guests. On this occasion, Chaudhry Nazir of village Sahot in Kallar Syedan introduced the sport of tent pegging in Norway and spread indigenous happiness in the Pakistani community.

Tent pegging, a traditional cavalry exercise, involves riders on horseback galloping at full speed while aiming to pierce and pick up small wooden targets, known as “pegs,” with a lance or sword. The precision and dexterity required for this sport make it a captivating spectacle.

The Danish and English teams showcased their expertise and competitive spirit, with each rider demonstrating remarkable accuracy and control. The competition was fierce, with participants engaging in various tent-pegging disciplines, including individual runs and team events.

Organizers lauded the event as a significant success, highlighting the importance of such international competitions in promoting camaraderie and cultural exchange among participants. Spectators were treated to a vivid display of tradition and skill, rooted in the rich history of cavalry training.
