London; Councillors traveling from the UK to Pakistan during the Corona epidemic face having to resign from their seats
کورونا وبا کے دوران برطانیہ سے پاکستان کا سفر کرنے والے کونسلرز حضرات کو سیٹ سے سبکدوشی کا سامنا
لندن، پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کوم۔۔۔ محمد نصیر راجہ ۔۔۔ دو برطانوی کونسلرز کو کورونا وبا کے دوران پاکستان کا سفر کرنے اور عوامی اجتماع کی تقریبات میں شرکت کے باعث سبکدوشی کا سامنا ہے۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق کونسلر محمد اقبال اور محمد ایوب جن کا تعلق بولٹن، برطانیہ سے ہے نے اکتوبر کے دوران برطانیہ سے پاکستان کا سفر کیا جہاں انھوں نے جنازوں شادیوں اور دیگر تقریبات میں شرکت کی۔ ان کے حلقہ انتخاب کے ووٹروں نے ان سے کونسلرز کی سیٹ سے سبکدوشی کا مطالبہ کیا ہے مگر ان کونسلرز کا کہنا ہے کہ جس وقت انھوں نے پاکستان کا سفر کیا اس وقت سفری پابندیوں کا اطلاق نہیں ہوا تھا۔اور واپس آنے کے بعد انھوں نے اپنے آپ کو قرنطینہ بھی کیا تھا۔ بتایا گیا ہے کہ دونوں کونسلرز یکے بعد دیگرے نومبر اور دسمبر میں برطانیہ واپس آ گئے تھے۔
London; Two councillors Councillors Mohammed Iqbal and Mohammed Ayub are under fire after flying to Pakistan during the coronavirus pandemic to attend a ‘wedding and funeral’, among other ‘family commitments’.
Councillors Mohammed Iqbal and Mohammed Ayub, both Labour representatives for Great Lever on Bolton Council, are facing calls from residents to be suspended and step down from their posts after allegations surfaced that they flew outside of the UK during October 2020.
At the time the two councillors left the UK, it was not illegal for people to travel abroad for holidays or other leisure purposes as it is under current UK Covid-19 restrictions.
The councillors are said to have provided negative Covid-19 test results ahead of their trips and self-isolated for 14 days on their return ‘following local restrictions’ while they were away from Bolton.
The trips have been confirmed by the Bolton Labour group leader, who has said Coun Ayub left the UK on October 15 and Coun Iqbal left on October 18.
Coun Ayub returned to the UK on November 21, followed by Coun Iqbal who returned on December 2, according to the Bolton Labour boss.
