Rawalpindi’s Ring Road Signal-Free Project: November 2026 Deadline Set for Two Underpasses

راولپنڈی (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام — اکرام الحق قریشی |19 اکتوبر 2026)–مال روڈ سگنل فری پراجیکٹ کے زیر تعمیرچیئر نگ کراس اور ریس کورس انڈر پاسسز کی تکمیل کیلئےنومبر2026کی ڈیڈلائن مقرر کردی گئی ہے۔منصوبے پر مجموعی پراگریس60فیصد ہوچکی ہے۔جبکہ فنانشل پراگریس میں چیئر نگ کراس انڈر پاس کیلئے2588ملین روپے جاری ہوگے ہیں جس میں سے1360ملین روپے استعمال ہوئے ہیں۔ریس کورس انڈر پاس کیلئے3091 ملین روپے جاری ہوئے جس میں سے1537 ملین روپے استعمال ہوئے ہیں۔آرمی قبرستان چوک کیلئے2680ملین روپے سے173ملین روپے استعمال ہوئے ہیں۔کمشنر راولپنڈی ڈویژن سلمان غنی نے پشاور روڈ پر ریس کورس چوک اور چیرنگ کراس کے زیرِ تعمیر انڈر پاسز کا دورہ کرکے تعمیراتی کاموں پر پیش رفت کا جائزہ لیا۔ اس موقع پر بریفنگ میں بتایا گیاکہ دونوں منصوبوں میں پائلنگ، ڈیک سلیبز اور کیپنگ بیمز سمیت اہم ساختی کام مکمل ہو چکے ہیں، جبکہ بیریئرز کی تنصیب، انڈر پاسز کی کھدائی، یوٹیلیٹیز کی منتقلی، نکاسی آب اور سڑک کی تعمیر کے کام جاری ہیں۔ مجموعی تعمیراتی پیش رفت تقریباً60فیصد ہے اور باقی کام نومبر 2026ء تک مکمل کرنے کا ہدف مقرر کیا گیا ہے۔

RAWALPINDI (Pothwar.com – Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi, October 19, 2026): A November 2026 deadline has been set for the completion of the underpasses under construction at Charing Cross and Race Course as part of Rawalpindi’s Mall Road Signal-Free Project. Overall construction progress on the project has reached approximately 60 per cent.

Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Salman Ghani visited the underpasses under construction at Race Course Chowk and Charing Cross on Peshawar Road to review the progress of the development work.

During a briefing, officials informed the commissioner that major structural works, including piling, deck slabs and capping beams, had been completed at both sites. However, the installation of barriers, excavation, relocation of utilities, drainage works and road construction are still underway.

The remaining work is targeted for completion by November 2026.

Financial Progress of the Project

According to the financial figures provided, the Charing Cross Underpass has received Rs2,588 million in funding, of which Rs1,360 million has been spent.

The Race Course Underpass has received Rs3,091 million, with Rs1,537 million utilised so far.

For Army Graveyard Chowk, Rs2,680 million has been released, of which Rs173 million has been spent.

The construction teams are continuing work on the remaining components, with the November deadline set for the completion of the two underpasses.

The project is intended to improve traffic flow along the busy Peshawar Road corridor by reducing congestion at key intersections in Rawalpindi.
