London: Two Keighley Men Jailed for Combined 20 Years Over Violent Carjacking

برادفورڈ کراؤن کورٹ کو بتایا گیا کہ 31 سالہ عمران الطاف، ساکن ہیرووڈ کریسنٹ، اوک ورتھ، کو 12 سال قید جبکہ 29 سالہ داؤد بشارت، ساکن ہائی فیلڈ روڈ، کو آٹھ سال اور ایک ماہ قید کی سزا سنائی گئی۔

عدالت کے مطابق متاثرہ خاتون کیگلی میں اپنی گاڑی میں بیٹھی ہوئی تھی کہ دونوں ملزمان اس کے قریب پہنچے۔ انہوں نے گاڑی کی چابیاں چھین لیں اور خاتون کو ڈرائیونگ سیٹ سے زبردستی نکالنے کی کوشش کی۔

عدالت کو بتایا گیا کہ عمران الطاف نے خاتون کے سینے پر دو مرتبہ لات ماری اور اس کے سر پر بھی وار کیا، جبکہ داؤد بشارت نے اسے ڈرائیونگ سیٹ سے ہٹانے کی کوشش کی۔ خاتون نے خود کو بچانے کے لیے اسٹیئرنگ وہیل کو مضبوطی سے پکڑ رکھا تھا۔

متاثرہ خاتون نے بعد میں اپنے بیان میں کہا کہ ایک موقع پر اسے خدشہ ہوا کہ ملزمان اسے قتل کر دیں گے۔ اس نے کہا کہ اسے یہ خوف بھی تھا کہ اسے اغوا کیا جا سکتا ہے۔

دونوں ملزمان خاتون کی گاڑی لے کر موقع سے فرار ہوگئے، تاہم بعد ازاں پولیس نے تعاقب کے بعد اسٹینلی بائی پاس پر گاڑی کو روک لیا۔

سزا سناتے ہوئے جج نے واقعے کو انتہائی سنگین اور “انتہائی سفاکانہ” نوعیت کا قرار دیا۔ عدالت کی کارروائی کے نتیجے میں دونوں ملزمان کو مجموعی طور پر 20 سال اور ایک ماہ کی قید کی سزا سنائی گئی۔

پولیس کی جانب سے جاری کی گئی تصاویر میں داؤد بشارت کو پولیس مگ شاٹ میں مسکراتے ہوئے بھی دیکھا گیا۔

London (Pothwar.com – Mohammad Naseer Raja – September 26, 2025): Two men from Keighley have been jailed for a combined 20 years and one month after violently attacking a woman, dragging her from her car and stealing the vehicle during what a judge described as an “absolutely vicious” street robbery and carjacking.

Imran Altaf, 31, of Harewood Crescent, Oakworth, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Dawood Basharat, 29, of Highfield Road, was jailed for eight years and one month.

Bradford Crown Court heard that the victim was sitting alone in her car in Keighley when the two men approached her. They took her keys and attempted to force her out of the driver’s seat.

During the attack, Altaf kicked the woman twice in the chest and struck her on the head. Basharat also attempted to pull her from the driver’s seat while she desperately held on to the steering wheel.

The victim later described the terrifying incident, saying that at one point she feared the attackers were going to kill her. She also said she believed she might be kidnapped.

The two men then fled in the woman’s car. They were later pursued by police and stopped on Stanningley Bypass.

The court heard details of the violent incident before the judge imposed the prison sentences. The judge described the robbery and carjacking as an “absolutely vicious” attack.

Altaf was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Basharat received a sentence of eight years and one month, bringing their combined prison terms to 20 years and one month.

A police mugshot of Basharat was also released, in which he was seen smiling.
