Rawalpindi; Retired Intelligence Agency Employee Shot Dead in Rawalpindi; Suspect From Kallar Syedan Dies by Suicide

Rawalpindi (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | September 12, 2026): A retired employee of a sensitive government institution was shot dead allegedly over a dispute involving a marriage proposal, after which the suspected attacker also took his own life at the victim’s residence.

The deceased, 47-year-old Muhammad Shahid, was a retired employee of a sensitive institution and had been living with his family in Wah Cantt. According to the initial account, the suspect, identified as Wahab, allegedly arrived at Shahid’s house armed with a firearm and opened indiscriminate fire, killing him.

Following the shooting, the suspect reportedly went to the third floor of the victim’s house, where he shot himself in the head and died.

Police reached the scene after receiving information about the incident and took both bodies into custody for necessary legal proceedings.

The funeral prayer of Muhammad Shahid was offered in his native village of Palala Syedan in Kallar Syedan, where he was subsequently laid to rest.
