Gujar Khan: SNGPL Launches Major Project to Resolve Long-Standing Low Gas Pressure Issue

گوجرخان: 29 اگست 2026 (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام —سوئی ناردرن گیس پائپ لائنز لمیٹڈ نے گوجر خان کے شہریوں کو درپیش گیس کے کم پریشر کے دیرینہ مسئلے کے مستقل اور مؤثر حل کے لیے بڑے پیمانے پر پائپ لائن انفراسٹرکچر کی منتقلی، تبدیلی اور اپ گریڈیشن کا منصوبہ شروع کر دیا ہے۔

ذرائع کے مطابق یہ اہم منصوبہ بریگیڈیئر اعجاز قمر کیانی کی کاوشوں اور عوامی مسائل کے حل کو ترجیح دینے کے تحت شروع کیا گیا ہے، جس کا بنیادی مقصد گوجر خان شہر خصوصاً جی ٹی روڈ سے ملحقہ علاقوں میں گیس پریشر کو بہتر بنانا اور شہریوں کو محفوظ اور قابلِ اعتماد گیس سپلائی فراہم کرنا ہے۔

ترجمان کے مطابق وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب کے پائلٹ پراجیکٹ کے تحت گوجر خان کے جی ٹی روڈ اور مین بازار میں انڈر پاسز اور سروس روڈز کی تعمیر کے ساتھ ساتھ گیس نیٹ ورک کی استعداد بڑھانے کا کام بھی جاری ہے۔ اس منصوبے میں گیس سپلائی کے نظام کو مستقبل کی ضروریات کے مطابق بہتر بنانے کے لیے نئے ٹاؤن بارڈر اسٹیشنز کی تنصیب بھی شامل ہے۔

حکام کے مطابق منصوبے کے موجودہ مرحلے میں 10 انچ، 6 انچ اور 4 انچ قطر کی نئی گیس پائپ لائنز بچھائی جائیں گی۔ نئی پائپ لائنوں کی تنصیب کا بنیادی مقصد جی ٹی روڈ سے ملحقہ آبادیوں اور دیگر متاثرہ علاقوں میں گیس کے کم پریشر کے مسئلے کا خاتمہ یا اس میں نمایاں کمی لانا ہے۔

پرانی پائپ لائنوں کی جگہ جدید نیٹ ورک

حکام کے مطابق مقامی انتظامیہ کی ہدایات پر گوجر خان شہر کے دیگر گنجان آباد علاقوں اور مضافاتی علاقوں میں بھی گیس نیٹ ورک کا تفصیلی سروے کیا جائے گا۔ سروے کے دوران پرانی، بوسیدہ اور خراب حالت میں موجود دھاتی پائپ لائنوں کی نشاندہی کی جائے گی، جنہیں مرحلہ وار جدید پولی ایتھیلین پائپ لائنز سے تبدیل کیا جائے گا۔

حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ جدید پائپ لائن نیٹ ورک کی تنصیب سے گیس سپلائی کے نظام کی پائیداری، حفاظت اور کارکردگی میں نمایاں بہتری آئے گی۔ اس کے علاوہ پرانی پائپ لائنوں کی تبدیلی سے گیس لیکج کے خطرات میں بھی کمی آئے گی، جس سے شہریوں کی جان و مال کے تحفظ میں مدد ملے گی۔

بوسیدہ اور پرانے نیٹ ورک کی جگہ جدید پائپ لائنیں بچھانے سے نہ صرف گیس کے ضیاع کو کم کرنے میں مدد ملے گی بلکہ کم پریشر کی شکایات میں بھی نمایاں کمی متوقع ہے۔

منصوبہ مقررہ مدت میں مکمل کرنے کا عزم

حکام نے بتایا کہ منصوبے کی بروقت تکمیل کے لیے متعلقہ عملہ دن رات کام کر رہا ہے۔ حکام کے مطابق کوشش کی جا رہی ہے کہ ترقیاتی کام مقررہ وقت کے اندر مکمل کیے جائیں تاکہ شہریوں کو طویل عرصے تک مشکلات کا سامنا نہ کرنا پڑے۔

منصوبے کی تکمیل کے بعد گوجر خان کے شہریوں کو جدید ٹیکنالوجی پر مبنی، محفوظ، مستحکم اور قابلِ اعتماد گیس سپلائی سسٹم فراہم ہونے کی توقع ہے۔ اس سے عوامی سہولت، سروس کے معیار، گیس نیٹ ورک کی استعداد اور آپریشنل سیفٹی میں نمایاں بہتری آئے گی۔

عوامی حلقوں کا اظہارِ تشکر

دریں اثنا، گوجر خان کے عوامی و سماجی حلقوں نے گیس پریشر کے مسئلے کے حل کے لیے عملی اقدامات شروع کرنے پر بریگیڈیئر اعجاز قمر کیانی، ستارۂ امتیاز (ملٹری) اور سوئی ناردرن گیس پائپ لائنز لمیٹڈ کے حکام کا شکریہ ادا کیا ہے۔

عوامی حلقوں کا کہنا ہے کہ گوجر خان میں گیس پریشر کا مسئلہ طویل عرصے سے شہریوں کے لیے پریشانی کا باعث بنا ہوا تھا۔ نئے منصوبے اور پرانے نیٹ ورک کی اپ گریڈیشن سے نہ صرف گیس پریشر میں بہتری آئے گی بلکہ گیس سپلائی سے متعلق دیگر مشکلات میں بھی کمی متوقع ہے۔

شہریوں نے امید ظاہر کی ہے کہ منصوبے کو مقررہ مدت میں مکمل کیا جائے گا اور اس کے ثمرات گوجر خان شہر اور ملحقہ علاقوں کے عوام تک جلد پہنچیں گے۔

Gujar Khan (Pothwar.com, August 29, 2026): Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has launched a major infrastructure development project in Gujar Khan to address the long-standing problem of low gas pressure faced by residents of the city and surrounding areas.

The project has been initiated through the efforts of Brigadier Ejaz Qamar Kiani, with a focus on providing an effective and long-term solution to public complaints regarding low gas pressure and improving the reliability and safety of the gas distribution network.

According to an SNGPL spokesperson, extensive work is currently underway under the Punjab Chief Minister’s pilot project along the GT Road and Main Bazaar, Gujar Khan. The project includes the construction of underpasses and service roads, along with the expansion and upgradation of the existing gas network.

The infrastructure improvement programme also includes the installation of new Town Border Stations (TBSs) to enhance the capacity and operational efficiency of the gas distribution system.

New Gas Pipelines to Improve Pressure

Officials said that, during the current phase of the project, new gas pipelines measuring 10 inches, 6 inches and 4 inches in diameter will be laid in different areas.

The primary objective of the project is to address the persistent low gas pressure problem in areas adjoining the GT Road and other localities where residents have repeatedly faced difficulties in receiving adequate gas supply.

The expansion of the pipeline network is expected to improve gas flow and strengthen the overall distribution system, particularly in densely populated areas.

Old Metal Pipelines to Be Replaced with Polyethylene Network

On the directions of the local administration, detailed surveys will also be conducted in other densely populated parts of Gujar Khan as well as surrounding and suburban areas.

Following the surveys, old, deteriorated and damaged metal pipelines will be identified and replaced with modern polyethylene pipelines.

Officials said the replacement of the ageing infrastructure would improve the durability, safety and efficiency of the gas distribution network. It is also expected to reduce the risk of gas leakages and other hazardous incidents, thereby improving public safety.

The replacement of the old network is further expected to significantly reduce complaints related to low gas pressure and improve the overall reliability of gas supply to consumers.

SNGPL Staff Working Round the Clock

SNGPL officials said that the relevant teams are working day and night to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.

The authorities have expressed their commitment to ensuring timely completion of the development work so that residents can benefit from improved gas services without unnecessary delays.

Once completed, the project is expected to provide the people of Gujar Khan with a safer, more reliable and modern gas distribution system. The upgraded infrastructure will also improve public convenience, service quality, network capacity and operational safety.

Public Appreciates Initiative

Meanwhile, representatives of local public and social circles have welcomed the launch of the project and expressed gratitude to Brigadier Ejaz Qamar Kiani, Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), and SNGPL authorities for taking practical steps to resolve the city’s gas-related problems.

Local residents said that low gas pressure had remained a long-standing issue in Gujar Khan and had caused considerable inconvenience to consumers, particularly in densely populated areas.

They expressed hope that the pipeline replacement and network upgradation programme would be completed within the announced timeframe and would bring a substantial improvement in gas pressure and supply across Gujar Khan and its adjoining areas.
