Glasgow Community Mourns the Death of Qazi Zamir Akhtar

اسکاٹ لینڈ، 28 اگست 2026 (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام – محمد نصیر راجہ) —اسکاٹ لینڈ برطانیہ کے شہر گلاسگو میں مقیم قاضی اسلم ضمیر کے والد محترم،گولین/گلاسکو میں مقیم قاضی عبد المالک کے بہنوئی، کلرسیداں کے صحافی اکرام الحق قریشی، پنجاب ٹیچرز یونین ضلع راولپنڈی کے سابق صدر احسان الحق قریشی کے ماموں قاضی ضمیر اختر برطانیہ میں انتقال کر گئے وہ گزشتہ 66 برسوں سے وہاں مقیم تھے گزشتہ دو ماہ سے گلاسگو کے ہسپتال میں زیر علاج تھے مگر جانبر نہ ہوسکے نماز جنازہ آج بعد نماز جمعہ سنٹرل مسجد گلاسکو میں ادا کی جائے گی تدفین بھی وہیں کی جائے گی۔

Scotland, August 28, 2026 (Pothwar.com — Mohammad Naseer Raja): Qazi Zamir Akhtar, a long-time resident of the United Kingdom, has passed away in Glasgow after a period of illness. He had been living in the UK for the past 66 years.

Qazi Zamir Akhtar was the father of Qazi Aslam Zamir, who resides in Glasgow, and brother-in-law of Qazi Abdul Malik of Goleen/Glasgow. He was also the maternal uncle of Kallar Syedan journalist Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi and former President of the Rawalpindi District Punjab Teachers Union, Ehsan-ul-Haq Qureshi.

According to family sources, Qazi Zamir Akhtar had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Glasgow for the past two months. Despite medical treatment, he could not recover and passed away.

His funeral prayer will be offered today, Friday, after the Friday prayers at Central Mosque Glasgow. He will be laid to rest in Glasgow.

The news of his death has been received with deep sorrow by relatives, friends and members of the Pakistani and wider community in Glasgow, as well as his family and acquaintances in Kallar Syedan.
