Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com – Ikram Ul Haq Qureshi | July 18, 2026): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari departed Islamabad on Friday afternoon for his first-ever visit to Dadyal, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, accompanied by former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and other senior party leaders.
The convoy travelled via the Rawat–Kallar Syedan–Dhangali Road before reaching Dadyal in Mirpur district. Despite the route passing through the Kallar Syedan area, the local PPP Tehsil organisation reportedly remained unaware of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s passage through Kallar Dhangali.
Addressing a public gathering in Dadyal, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the PPP remains committed to safeguarding the rights of the Kashmiri people. “Where the Kashmiris shed their sweat, we are ready to shed our blood,” he declared.
He stressed that constitutional amendments can only be made through Parliament, adding that the Constitution cannot be altered through coercion or intimidation. Bilawal also stated that voters in Azad Kashmir have limited political choices, urging them to support the PPP to ensure solutions to their problems.
Criticising the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Bilawal alleged that one of its federal ministers does not recognise Mirpur, Dadyal, Kotli, Rawalakot, and Muzaffarabad as part of Kashmir. He questioned whether the minister’s remarks reflected the federal government’s official policy and called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to clarify the government’s position. If the minister’s views were not official policy, Bilawal said the Prime Minister should remove him from the cabinet.
He also criticised another federal minister for claiming that twelve Azad Kashmir Assembly seats were already secured, and reiterated his demand for the abolition of the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs.
Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, while addressing the rally, highlighted the PPP government’s infrastructure initiatives, stating that the Rawalpindi–Islamabad connection through the Dhangali route had significantly improved travel for the region. He said the PPP has always believed in connecting people through development and urged voters to support the party by casting their votes for the “Arrow” election symbol, assuring them that the party would not disappoint them.
