Qatar Cuts Residency Grace Period from 30 to 14 Days, Introduces New Penalties

قطر (پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام – محمد نصیر راجہ، 18 جون 2026)قطر کی وزارتِ داخلہ نے ویزہ اور اقامہ قوانین میں اہم تبدیلیوں کا اعلان کرتے ہوئے اقامہ (ریذیڈنس پرمٹ) منسوخ ہونے کے بعد ملک میں قیام کی رعایتی مدت 30 دن سے کم کرکے 14 دن کر دی ہے۔

ایئرپورٹ پاسپورٹ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے افسر کیپٹن علی احمد علی الکواری نے ایک ویبنار کے دوران بتایا کہ جن غیر ملکی افراد کے اقامے منسوخ ہوں گے، انہیں 14 دن کے اندر قطر چھوڑنا ہوگا۔ مقررہ مدت کے بعد غیر قانونی طور پر قیام کرنے والوں پر 10 قطری ریال یومیہ جرمانہ عائد کیا جائے گا۔

وزٹ ویزہ پر آنے والے سیاحوں اور مسافروں کو بھی خبردار کیا گیا ہے کہ وہ اپنے ویزے کی میعاد پر خصوصی توجہ دیں۔ ویزہ ختم ہونے کے بعد قیام جاری رکھنے کی صورت میں 200 قطری ریال روزانہ جرمانہ ادا کرنا ہوگا۔

قطر میں پیدا ہونے والے غیر ملکی بچوں کے بارے میں بھی نئی ہدایات جاری کی گئی ہیں۔ والدین کے لیے بچے کی پیدائش کی اطلاع دینا اور اس کا اقامہ والد کی کفالت کے تحت بنوانا لازمی قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ اقامہ نہ بنوانے کی صورت میں بچہ قطر چھوڑنے کے بعد دوبارہ ملک میں داخل نہیں ہو سکے گا۔

وزارتِ داخلہ نے مسافروں کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ سفر سے قبل Metrash موبائل ایپ کے ذریعے اپنے جرمانوں اور دیگر واجبات کی جانچ کر لیں تاکہ روانگی کے وقت کسی قسم کی دشواری کا سامنا نہ کرنا پڑے۔

Qatar (Pothwar.com – Mohammad Naseer Raja, June 18, 2026) – Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has announced significant changes to residency and visa regulations, reducing the grace period for expatriates after the cancellation of their residency permit from 30 days to 14 days.

Speaking during a webinar on safe travel procedures, Captain Ali Ahmed Ali Al Kuwari from the Airport Passports Department stated that foreign residents whose residence permits are cancelled must leave Qatar within 14 days. Those who remain in the country beyond the permitted period will face a fine of QAR 10 per day.

The ministry also issued a warning to visitors and tourists on visit visas, urging them to carefully check the validity of their visas. Any visitor who overstays after the visa expiry date will be subject to a hefty fine of QAR 200 per day.

New guidelines have also been introduced for foreign children born in Qatar. Parents must notify passport authorities of the birth and obtain a residency permit for the child under the father’s sponsorship. A child who leaves Qatar without a valid residency permit may not be allowed to re-enter the country.

The Ministry of Interior further advised travellers to verify their status through the Metrash mobile application before departure, ensuring that no traffic fines, overstay penalties, or other outstanding dues remain, as these could affect travel procedures.
