Gujar Khan: Woman Arrested for Allegedly Throwing Acid on Husband During Divorce Meeting in Matoa

گوجر خان (نمائندہ پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام، 11 جون 2026) — گوجر خان کے علاقے مطوعہ میں گھریلو ناچاقی کے باعث ایک خاتون نے مبینہ طور پر اپنے شوہر پر تیزاب پھینک دیا، جس کے نتیجے میں وہ شدید زخمی ہوگیا۔ پولیس نے متاثرہ شخص کی درخواست پر مقدمہ درج کرکے ملزمہ کو گرفتار کر لیا ہے۔

پولیس کے مطابق تھانہ گوجر خان میں درج مقدمے کے متن کے مطابق متاثرہ شخص کامران تنویر نے مؤقف اختیار کیا ہے کہ اس کی شادی تقریباً آٹھ ماہ قبل عائشہ بشارت سے ہوئی تھی۔ تاہم شادی کے کچھ عرصہ بعد ہی دونوں کے درمیان اختلافات پیدا ہوگئے اور اس کی اہلیہ ناراض ہو کر اپنے گھر چلی گئی۔ مدعی کے مطابق اہل خانہ نے متعدد بار صلح صفائی اور راضی نامے کی کوشش کی، لیکن خاتون طلاق لینے پر مصر رہی۔

مدعی کے بیان کے مطابق وقوعہ کے روز وہ اپنے والد کے ہمراہ طلاق کے کاغذات سے متعلق کارروائی مکمل کرنے کے لیے یونین کونسل دفتر آیا تھا۔ جب وہ یونین کونسل کے دفتر سے باہر نکلا تو اس کی اہلیہ نے مبینہ طور پر اس پر تیزاب پھینک دیا، جس سے وہ شدید زخمی ہوگیا۔

واقعے کے فوراً بعد زخمی شخص کو ابتدائی طبی امداد کے لیے تحصیل ہیڈ کوارٹر ہسپتال گوجر خان منتقل کیا گیا، جہاں اسے ہنگامی طبی سہولیات فراہم کی گئیں۔ حکام نے تاحال اس کی چوٹوں کی نوعیت اور شدت کے بارے میں تفصیلات جاری نہیں کیں۔

پولیس نے متاثرہ شخص کی درخواست پر پاکستان پینل کوڈ کی دفعہ 336(ii) کے تحت مقدمہ درج کرکے ملزمہ عائشہ بشارت کو گرفتار کر لیا ہے۔ تفتیشی حکام کے مطابق واقعے کی مختلف پہلوؤں سے تحقیقات جاری ہیں اور شواہد کی روشنی میں مزید قانونی کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے گی۔

قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں کا کہنا ہے کہ تیزاب گردی سنگین نوعیت کا جرم ہے جس کے متاثرین کو جسمانی اور ذہنی طور پر دیرپا اثرات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ پولیس نے بتایا کہ مقدمے کی تحقیقات جاری ہیں اور مزید پیش رفت سامنے آنے پر اسے عوام کے ساتھ شیئر کیا جائے گا۔

Gujar Khan, June 11, 2026 (Potohar.com Correspondent) — A woman was arrested after allegedly throwing acid on her husband following a domestic dispute in the Matoa area of Gujar Khan, leaving him seriously injured, police said on Thursday.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered at Gujar Khan Police Station, the victim, Kamran Tanveer, sustained severe injuries when his wife, Ayesha Basharat, allegedly threw acid on him outside a Union Council office. He was immediately shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Gujar Khan, for medical treatment.

Police officials stated that the couple had been married approximately eight months ago. However, relations between them reportedly deteriorated soon after the marriage. The complainant alleged that his wife was unwilling to continue living with him and had left the matrimonial home after disagreements. Despite repeated efforts by family members to reconcile the couple, she allegedly remained determined to seek a divorce.

According to the complaint, Kamran Tanveer, accompanied by his father, arrived at the Union Council office on the day of the incident to complete formalities related to the divorce proceedings. As he exited the office after dealing with the relevant documents, his wife allegedly attacked him by throwing acid, causing serious injuries.

Rescue efforts were initiated immediately, and the injured man was transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Gujar Khan, where he received emergency medical treatment. Authorities have not yet disclosed details regarding the extent of his injuries.

Following the incident, Gujar Khan Police registered a case under Section 336(ii) of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to causing harm through corrosive substances. Acting on the complaint, police arrested the accused woman and launched a formal investigation into the matter.

Law enforcement officials said further legal action would be taken in accordance with the findings of the investigation. The incident has drawn attention to the growing concern over violent domestic disputes and the serious consequences of acid attacks, which remain among the most severe forms of assault due to their potentially life-altering effects on victims.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and that additional details will be made public as the case progresses through the legal process.
