Kahuta: Salma Tehreem Appointed as Chief Municipal Officer Kahuta After Transfer of Umair Sultan

حکومت پنجاب نے چیف میونسپل آفیسر (سی ایم او) کہوٹہ عمیر سلطان کا تبادلہ کرتے ہوئے سلمیٰ تحریم کو میونسپل کمیٹی کہوٹہ کا نیا چیف میونسپل آفیسر تعینات کر دیا ہے۔ اس حوالے سے باقاعدہ نوٹیفکیشن جاری کر دیا گیا ہے۔

نوٹیفکیشن کے مطابق عمیر سلطان کا تبادلہ میونسپل کمیٹی کہوٹہ سے میونسپل کمیٹی دیپالپور، ضلع اوکاڑہ کر دیا گیا ہے۔ جبکہ میونسپل کمیٹی کلر سیداں میں بطور میونسپل آفیسر (ریگولیشن) خدمات انجام دینے والی سلمیٰ تحریم کو فوری طور پر چیف میونسپل آفیسر میونسپل کمیٹی کہوٹہ تعینات کر دیا گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے اپنے عہدے کا چارج بھی سنبھال لیا ہے۔

تفصیلات کے مطابق حالیہ دنوں میں عمیر سلطان کے خلاف عوامی سطح پر شدید تنقید سامنے آئی تھی۔ ان پر الزام تھا کہ انہوں نے وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز کی ہدایات کے برعکس مسلم لیگ (ن) سے تعلق رکھنے والے غیر منتخب افراد کو سرکاری امور میں اثر و رسوخ حاصل کرنے کی اجازت دی۔ دو روز قبل اس معاملے پر عوامی احتجاج بھی سامنے آیا تھا۔

ان حالات کے پیش نظر حکومت پنجاب نے انتظامی کارروائی کرتے ہوئے ان کا تبادلہ کر دیا۔ مزید برآں شہریوں کی جانب سے یہ اعتراض بھی اٹھایا گیا کہ سابق چیف میونسپل آفیسر سرکاری گاڑی اور سرکاری پٹرول استعمال کرتے ہوئے روزانہ شام کے وقت اسلام آباد ٹینس کھیلنے جاتے تھے، جسے عوامی حلقوں نے سرکاری وسائل کے ناجائز استعمال قرار دیا۔

شہریوں اور عوامی حلقوں نے حکومت پنجاب کی فوری کارروائی کا خیرمقدم کرتے ہوئے پریس کلب کہوٹہ کی جانب سے معاملہ اجاگر کرنے کی کوششوں کو بھی سراہا۔

The Punjab Government has transferred Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Kahuta, Umair Sultan, and appointed Salma Tehreem as the new Chief Municipal Officer of the Municipal Committee Kahuta. An official notification has been issued in this regard.

According to the notification, Umair Sultan has been transferred from Municipal Committee Kahuta to Municipal Committee Depalpur, District Okara. Meanwhile, Salma Tehreem, who was serving as Municipal Officer (Regulation) in Municipal Committee Kallar Syedan, has been transferred and appointed as Chief Municipal Officer Kahuta with immediate effect. She has formally assumed charge of her new position.

Sources stated that public criticism had recently intensified against Umair Sultan over allegations that unelected members associated with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) were being allowed influence over official affairs, allegedly contrary to the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Two days earlier, strong public protests had emerged regarding the alleged presence of non-elected political figures occupying positions of influence within municipal offices.

Following these developments, the Punjab Government reportedly took administrative action and issued transfer orders. In addition, citizens had expressed concerns regarding allegations that the former CMO regularly used an official vehicle and government fuel for personal visits to Islamabad to play tennis, prompting public criticism over the alleged misuse of public resources.

Local residents and public circles have welcomed the action taken by the Punjab Government and appreciated the role of Kahuta Press Club in highlighting the matter.
