Kallar Syedan (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | 20 April 2026):
The approval of a new carpeted road from Sahot Hyaal to Mahli Rajgan, extending to Palam, New Abadi Choha Khalsa, Sahot Budhal, and Dhok Bulandiyan Road, has brought widespread happiness among residents of Union Councils Kanohha and Choha Khalsa.
The Punjab government approved the construction of more than four kilometres of carpeted road following requests by Members of the Provincial Assembly Raja Usama Sarwar and Raja Sagheer Ahmed. This long-awaited demand of the people of Choha Khalsa and Sehote Budhal has finally been fulfilled.
A foundation stone-laying ceremony was held recently, where MPA Raja Sagheer Ahmed attended as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he stated that he had been in continuous contact with France-based Haji Shaukat Ali Mughal, who frequently raised concerns about the poor condition of the road. “Today, we have fulfilled his longstanding demand,” he said.
The project includes the construction of a new four-kilometre carpeted road from Sehote Hyaal near Kallar Dhan Gali Carpet Road, complete with two-foot-wide shoulders on both sides. This will not only improve road performance but also enhance its durability over time.
The road will provide improved travel facilities to residents of Mahli Rajgan, Mahli Palam (Choha Khalsa), New Abadi Sahot Budhal (Kanoha), and Dhok Bulandiyan, ensuring better connectivity across the region.
Prominent attendees at the event included Raja Shahid Mahmood, Chaudhry Muhammad Shaban, Chaudhry Ayaz Ahmed Gujjar, Numberdar Chaudhry Waqas, Sheikh Maysam Karbalai, Hafiz Muhammad Ihsan, Haji Zahoor Mughal, Ghazanfar Mughal, and others.
Meanwhile, France-based Numberdar Haji Shaukat Ali Mughal expressed his gratitude to MPA Raja Sagheer Ahmed for the road’s approval. He said the project would not only provide modern travel facilities to underdeveloped villages in UC Kanohha and UC Khalsa but also benefit surrounding areas such as UC Bhalakhar, Dhamali, Skot, and Duberan by offering a shorter route, saving time and improving accessibility.
