Rawat (Pothwar.com — Ikram-ul-Haq Qureshi | 10 April 2026) — Following the directives of CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, Rawalpindi Police has placed the entire city on high security alert, implementing extraordinary measures to ensure foolproof security in light of the arrival and movement of foreign delegations.

Senior police officials, including CPO Rawalpindi, DPO Chakwal, DPO Murree, SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, Chief Traffic Officer, divisional SPs, SDPOs, and other officers, are personally present in the field, supervising security arrangements. More than 5,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed across the city. Over 350 special pickets have been established, while strict monitoring is being carried out at all entry and exit points. Additional force has also been deployed on major highways.

A high-level meeting chaired by the CPO was held at Police Lines Headquarters, where strict instructions were issued to ensure foolproof security under all circumstances. Elite Force, Dolphin Force, police mobiles, and other quick response units have been put on high alert and are actively patrolling.

Due to security concerns, entry and exit routes, major roads, markets, shops, and hotels in the city have been temporarily closed, with strict security arrangements in place. Bus stands have also been temporarily shut down, and a rigorous checking system has been enforced at all entry points, with enhanced security measures.

Search, sweep, combing, and intelligence-based operations have been intensified across the city. Suspicious individuals are being closely monitored and checked. Security has been further tightened around sensitive installations, important public and private locations, and residential facilities.

Monitoring is being carried out 24/7 through Safe City systems, CCTV cameras, and modern technology, with real-time situation reports being reviewed by officials in the control room.

To maintain traffic flow, a special traffic plan has been devised, and alternative routes have been provided for public convenience.
