Gujar Khan: Mud and Poor Conditions Disrupt Traffic on Chak Beli Ring Road Construction Site

زیرِ تعمیر راولپنڈی رنگ روڈ منصوبے کے باعث چک بیلی روڈ پر میرا موہڑہ کے مقام پر حالیہ بارش کے بعد شدید مشکلات پیدا ہو گئی ہیں۔
مقامی افراد کے مطابق بارش کے باعث پل کے نیچے گزرنے والا راستہ کیچڑ اور دلدل میں تبدیل ہو چکا ہے، جس کی وجہ سے ٹریفک کا گزرنا انتہائی مشکل ہو گیا ہے جبکہ پیدل چلنا تقریباً ناممکن ہو چکا ہے۔

اہل علاقہ کا کہنا ہے کہ جب سے رنگ روڈ منصوبے پر کام شروع ہوا ہے، بارش کے دنوں میں یہی صورتحال رہتی ہے۔ لوگ اپنی گاڑیاں صاف ستھری حالت میں لے کر نکلتے ہیں مگر اس مقام سے گزرنے کے بعد ان کی گاڑیوں کا برا حال ہو جاتا ہے۔

انہوں نے مزید بتایا کہ خشک موسم میں یہاں گرد و غبار کی وجہ سے بھی سفر کرنا مشکل ہو جاتا ہے، جو عوام کیلئے ایک مستقل مسئلہ بن چکا ہے۔

اہل علاقہ نے کہا کہ پنجاب حکومت اور آر ڈی اے اربوں روپے کے اس منصوبے پر کام کر رہے ہیں، لیکن عوام کی سہولت کیلئے معمولی اقدامات بھی نہیں کیے جا رہے۔

مقامی لوگوں نے تجویز دی کہ اگر اس مقام پر بجری کے چند ڈمپر ڈال دیئے جائیں تو لوگوں کو کافی حد تک ریلیف مل سکتا ہے۔

انہوں نے کمشنر راولپنڈی ڈویژن، جو ڈائریکٹر جنرل آر ڈی اے کا اضافی چارج بھی رکھتے ہیں، سے فوری نوٹس لینے اور مسئلے کے حل کیلئے اقدامات کرنے کی اپیل کی ہے۔

Severe inconvenience has been reported for commuters and residents near the under-construction Rawalpindi Ring Road project at Chak Beli Road, specifically in the area of Maira Mohra, following recent rainfall.

According to local residents, heavy rain has turned the passage beneath a bridge at the construction site into a muddy and swamp-like stretch, making it extremely difficult for vehicles to pass. The situation has worsened to the extent that even pedestrians are unable to cross the area safely.

Residents stated that since the commencement of construction work on the Ring Road project, such conditions have become routine during rainy days. Despite maintaining their vehicles in good condition, commuters find them covered in mud and dirt after passing through this stretch.

They further added that the problem is not limited to rainy weather. During dry days, excessive dust in the area creates another challenge, making travel equally uncomfortable and hazardous.

Locals emphasised that the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), under the Punjab government, is executing a multi-billion-rupee infrastructure project. However, they expressed concern that basic measures to ease public hardship are being overlooked.

Residents suggested that dumping a few truckloads of gravel at the affected point could significantly improve road conditions and provide immediate relief to commuters.

The local community has appealed to the Commissioner of Rawalpindi Division—who also holds the charge of Director General of RDA—to take urgent notice of the situation and ensure necessary steps are taken to facilitate the public.
