Daultala, Gujar Khan: Pothwar.com, Muhammad Najeeb Jarral, March 30, 2026 — A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from the area of Dhoke Qasim Ali (inside Manghot), within the jurisdiction of Mandra police station in Tehsil Gujar Khan, where a helpless elderly woman was allegedly forced out of her own home by her grandson, who is also accused of fraudulently seizing her property.
According to the victim, an elderly widow named Mai Pyari Jan, her husband Sajawal Khan passed away 14 years ago, after which she had been living alone in her home. She stated that her grandson, Khurshid, later came to live with her and gradually gained her trust.
Mai Pyari Jan alleges that some time ago, her grandson took her to Gujar Khan under the pretext of arranging an Umrah pilgrimage. During this trip, he reportedly obtained her thumb impressions on several documents, claiming they were necessary for passport processing. However, it was later revealed that these documents were allegedly used to transfer approximately 6 kanals of her inherited land into his name through fraud.
The matter is currently under court proceedings. Despite this, the elderly woman claims that on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr, in the evening, her grandson forcibly pushed her out of the house and took illegal possession of the property.
Now left homeless and vulnerable, the elderly woman is reportedly wandering without shelter. In an emotional appeal, she has called upon Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take immediate notice of the situation, ensure justice, and initiate strict legal action against the accused.
The incident raises serious concerns about the protection of elderly citizens and whether justice is equally accessible to the most vulnerable members of society.
