Rawat: Kallar Syedan Family Alleges Harassment at Islamabad Airport, Misses UK Flight

روات(پوٹھوار ڈاٹ کام — اکرام الحق قریشی |28فروری 2026)—اسلام آباد سے سعودیہ کے راستے برطانیہ جانے والی کلرسیداں کی فیملی کو سگریٹ ہمراہ لے جانے پر غیر ضروری روک لیا گیا دانستہ تاخیر کی جس کے باعث ان کی فلائٹ پی روانہ ہو گئی پاکستانی نژاد برطانوی شہری محمد اختر اپنی اہلیہ اور بیٹے نعمان اختر کے ہمراہ تعلیمات پر پاکستان آئے ہوئے تھے وہ سعودیہ ائرلائن سے ہیتھرو(لندن)جا رہے تھے کہ اسلام آباد ائیرپورٹ پر انہیں کسٹم اہلکاروں نے روک لیا اور کہ آپ تین مسافر ہیں آپ چھ ڈبے سگریٹ نہیں لے جا سکتے اس کے لیئے مبینہ طور پر پیسے مانگے گئے جبکہ مسافروں نے انہیں بتایا کہ ایک مسافر ڈوڈبے سگریٹ ہمراہ لے جا سکتا ہے مگر وہ نہ مانے اور انہیں وہاں کھڑا کردیا اور دانستہ معاملہ کو طول دیا یہاں تک کہ وہ بورڈنگ تک ہی نہ پہنچ سکے اور جہاز فضا میں اڑان بھر گیا اور مسافر واپس کلرسیداں لوٹ آئے کلرسیداں کے سابق کونسلر شاھد جمیل عباسی نے واقعہ کی شدید مزمت کرتے ہوئے الزام عائد کیا کہ کسٹم اہلکاروں نے نہ صرف بھتہ کی وصولی کے لیے برطانوی فیملی کو ہراساں کیا بلکہ یہ ملک کی بدنامی کا بھی موجب بنے انہوں نے وزیر داخلہ محسن نقوی سے فوری مداخلت کی اپیل کی ہے

A family from Kallar Syedan has alleged that they were unnecessarily stopped at Islamabad International Airport while travelling to the United Kingdom via Saudi Arabia, causing them to miss their flight.
British Pakistani citizen Muhammad Akhtar, along with his wife and son Nauman Akhtar, had arrived in Pakistan for a visit. The family was scheduled to travel to London Heathrow via Saudi Arabian Airlines from Islamabad International Airport.
According to the family, customs officials stopped them at the airport over the issue of carrying six packets of cigarettes. The officials reportedly told them that three passengers could not carry six packets. The family maintained that each passenger is allowed to carry two packets, which would make six packets permissible for three travellers.
They further alleged that money was demanded from them and that when they refused, the matter was deliberately prolonged. As a result, they were unable to reach the boarding gate in time, and their flight departed without them. The family was subsequently forced to return to Kallar Syedan.
Former Kallar Syedan councillor Shahid Jameel Abbasi strongly condemned the incident, accusing customs officials of harassing the British family for alleged extortion. He stated that such actions not only inconvenience overseas Pakistanis but also damage the country’s reputation internationally.
Abbasi has appealed to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure accountability if the allegations are proven true.
No official statement from airport authorities or customs officials has yet been issued regarding the incident.
